The most recognisable form of garden leaf blower is the hand-held design that is often seen being used by grounds-workers and landscapers during the autumn months when the leaves are falling from the trees, filling up car parks and pavements at a pace. They are extremely easy to use once you have mastered the technique and, generally speaking, are quite lightweight and not too tiring to hold for long periods of use. Many models are stand-alone leaf blowers with no function to collect leaves. However, there is a good choice of blower vacs on the market now with collection kits including mesh leaf bags; these machines may also have a small blade attached to the impellor unit that will shred the collected leaves into fine mulch, ideal for composting!
