This in the review from the Mail On Line:-
The chainsaw is, perhaps, the king of power tools. It commands respect because nothing else in your shed is so lethal - even if you only use it to trim the rhododendron.
Greasy, noisy and unwieldy, a decent chainsaw - and we're talking petrol-powered, not plugged in - demands a knowledge of engines, hours of tinkering and Popeye-proportioned forearms to use.
But with the launch of the lightweight, cordless, battery-powered AKE 30 LI, it's clear Bosch has been talking to the geeks as much as the grizzled tree surgeons.
Using the latest high-power lithium-ion wizardry, it has created a chainsaw with all the oomph of petrol and none of the restrictions of a mains-powered model.
Thirty-six volts doesn't sound much, but there's enough under the bonnet to fire the chain on the 30cm bar at 8m/sec and cut up to a hundred 10cm branches on one charge. That's a lot of logs for the wood burner.
Maintenance is a doddle, too: you can tighten the chain without using tools, and it self-lubricates.
Meanwhile, a full charge takes just 90 minutes, and with a kick-back brake that stops the chain in 0.1 seconds, it's as safe as a chainsaw gets.
Comes complete with:-
36 V/2.6 Ah High-Power lithium-ion battery
