A 22.5cc 2-stroke petrol engine with chrome plated cylinder, 3-piece crankshaft and Walbro WYJ diaphragm carburettor start the impressive list and ensure that durability and performance are guaranteed whilst ball-and-caged needle bearing construction adds to the feeling of longevity about this hedgetrimmer. To ensure that performance is not comprised with operating discomfort, anti-vibration mounts are built into the fuel tank and rear handle that also incorporates all of the essential controls. To further aid durability the gear case contains as few moving parts as possible, which, when combined with a forged one-piece clutch drum makes the Shindaiwa DH230-24 a stress free purchase. Maintenance of the air filter is a simple process with an easy access thumbscrew keeping the filter cover in place and with a 0.6-litre fuel tank there will be no need to continually stop-start needlessly during extended periods of trimming. A double-sided blade length of 60cm provides the perfect balance between control and total area cut, resulting in a hedgetrimmer suited for all tasks that will normally be encountered during the hedge-trimming season.
