Like TV-survivalist Ray Mears, Bertolini’s 411 two-wheeled tractors come completely equipped to thrive in even the toughest conditions. Also like Ray Mears, the 411 is tough, versatile and built with only high quality components. Unlike Ray Mears, however, the 411 can be customised with a wide range of accessories in order to meet the specific needs of each user. In our opinion, this makes Bertolini’s 411 significantly more useful than Ray Mears.

The power, manoeuvrability and ease of operation offered by the 411 means that there are few jobs in agricultural or horticultural settings to which it cannot be turned. With the addition of one of Bertolini’s tiller attachments, for example, the 411 can be used for cultivating compacted soil in preparation for seeding or planting. With the 115cm sickle bar mower attachment, meanwhile, large lawns and uncultivated grassed areas can be quickly and efficiently trimmed. Other optional accessories include a flail mower, a rotary mower attachment, reversible and rotary ploughs, a front-mounted shovel, a snow thrower and a handy front brush attachment, so you can rest assured of being able to make good use of your Bertolini two-wheeled tractor all year round (all attachments and accessories available separately).

The 411 also comes in a variety of models with different engines to further ensure user satisfaction, with this model featuring a class-leading 270cc Honda GX270 four-stroke petrol number. This powerful engine offers professional quality performance along with reduced noise and emissions, while a hi-tech digital CDI ignition system and a heavy duty recoil starter ensure trouble-free starting every time. This power is complemented by the control offered by a six-speed gear box featuring three forward and three reverse gears, allowing you to quickly adjust the performance to suit the conditions underfoot. The clever height- and width-adjustable handlebars can even be reversed 180° to suit the currently attached accessory, allowing the 411 to be operated safely in either direction.

Supplied as standard with a rear tow hitch and a QuickFit coupling device, it is also pleasingly simple to switch between accessories as and when the task requires. Equally handy is the inclusion of a differential locking system which increases traction on rough ground, along with independent brakes on each wheel and large, high grip chevron tyres to boost manoeuvrability on difficult terrain. Moreover, with the 411’s sturdy build and long-lasting components (such as the oil-immersed gears in the transmission) this machine is perfectly suited to challenging commercial agricultural and landscaping work, while with a handy anti-vibration system also included you can even rest assured of working in complete comfort!

About Bertolini
Bertolini was founded in 1953, at first producing pumps for the agricultural industry, and a year later expanded their range to include a mower, the Bertolini BFR 54. With their reputation for quality firmly established Bertolini went on to produce a range of cultivators and tillers that became the standard tool for the market gardeners and vineyard owners of the Mediterranean hillsides, favoured due to their outstanding durability in the hot and dusty conditions. Bertolini wheel tractor units gained a reputation as flexible and easy to use on rough terrain.

These cultivators became indispensable tools. It wasn't long before customers were asking for bespoke machinery to suit their particular horticultural needs, a demand that Bertolini were happy to answer until it became economically impossible to continue as manufacturing costs began to soar. More recently, the Emak Group acquired the Bertolini brand and since November 2008 awareness of the large range of tillers, cultivators, scythe cutter bar mowers, flail mowers and transporters has increased dramatically with the demand for their two-wheeled tractor units growing at-a-pace. The range of products available in the U.K. is still slightly limited, but with a rapid increase of interest in their excellent equipment, the Bertolini range of horticultural machinery is here to stay.
