The Bosch Universal 18-260 Cordless Grass Trimmer will give you a high cut quality and maximum ease of use. It has a 26cm cutting diameter and the height can be adjusted between 80 and 115 cm. The battery will give you up to 26 minutes of cutting time.

One of a new generation of cordless grass trimmers from Bosch, the 18-260 incorporates a number of improvements compared to older models. The new Durablade cutting system retains the accuracy and energy efficiency which characterises all Bosch cutting systems, but the new blades are made from a durable material which ensures that they will last 12x longer than those of predecessor models. Bearing the new blades in mind, Bosch have even redesigned the housing for the cutting system to give them maximum protection: if a blade hits a hard object such as a stone it retreats instantly into the housing to protect itself before centrifugal force pushes it out again to continue cutting.

This machine also incorporates Bosch’s lithium-ion technology in its 18V battery, which gives all the cordless freedom offered by older models, while also delivering up to 26 minutes of performance between charges. The lithium-ion technology also ensures that the battery will charge fully in only 1.5hours, and that the battery will not self-discharge when the machine is not in use. Lithium-ion technology also ensures that this battery will retain its charging capacity for up to 4x longer than regular batteries.

The longer auxiliary handle is now adjustable with a single click for easy and convenient handling, as is the telescopic handle, which is adjustable between 80-114cm. The 90° rotating cutter head can be easily switched from edging to trimming with a single click for maximum convenience, and the cutter head can also be used vertically, resulting in a tool which can be used everywhere with ease, even under obstacles such as bushes and benches.

These benefits are in addition to the ones available on other Bosch cordless grass trimmers, such as the 26cm cutting width, enabling you to trim a generous area without the need to retrace your steps, and the plant protector bar which ensures that the blades are always kept a safe distance away from both your prized plants, and solid obstacles such as walls. All Bosch cordless trimmers are ergonomically designed for balance and to minimise strain on the operator. The low weight of only 2.5kg also ensures you can use your machine for as long as necessary without strain. To add to the convenience, there is a storage space for spare blades incorporated into the telescopic handle.

The Bosch 18-260 now features Bosch’s Syneon Chip which manages the interaction between the battery, motor and gear. This is achieved by monitoring the power needed, controlling the motor voltage, and managing the battery temperature. This will ensure you get the optimum power and endurance from your tool until the job is complete.

About Bosch
Since the humble beginnings in Stuttgart, 1886, when Robert Bosch formed his own business manufacturing electronic components, the ‘Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering' has become one of the biggest and best known manufacturers of domestic and industrial electrical products in the world. The willingness to improve on established designs started almost immediately and it is this ethos that has kept Bosch GmbH and Bosch lawnmowers ahead of their rivals ever since. This innovation is quite apparent in the present range of Bosch lawnmowers and garden products that include tools no other garden machinery manufacturer produces.

Whatever size your garden, there is bound to be a Bosch lawnmower to suit it. The Bosch Rotak electric and cordless mowers exemplify the company’s willingness to innovate with features such as grass combs that enable mowing up to the edges of lawn borders and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries with virtually no drop-off in performance after extended use. Aside from Bosch lawnmowers, notable inventions are the Ciso Cordless Secateur and Isio Cordless Shrub Shear, tools that allow users with physical weaknesses to carryout day-to-day gardening tasks without discomfort. There is no doubt that if a garden tool can be improved upon, Robert Bosch GmbH is probably designing its successor already.
