This long-handled spade is particularly useful when working at the back of borders and raised beds, making digging and ground-breaking far easier on your back. The blade (L 290mm x W 190mm) and socket have been forged from one piece of steel for excellent durability (no welds or weak points). The extra-long 48” (1219mm) wooden shaft and handle is similarly built to last, made from high quality ash and varnished for protection against the elements.
