This model of Bulldog’s Insulated Newcastle Drainer boasts a treaded blade for greater comfort and a more powerful digging action. Treads have been welded onto the blade’s upper edge, enabling you to use your feet in the digging motion without causing damage to your footwear or slipping when working in wet and muddy conditions.
Manufactured to meet BS8020 standards, this shovel has been tested to 10,000 volts and is guaranteed to withstand 1,000 volts, supplied with a Certificate of Conformity. Thanks to its long and narrow blade, this shovel is perfect for digging holes, deep narrow trenches, channels for cables, pipes, and drains, and post holes.
The Newcastle Drainer boasts a strong and durable blade (L 407mm x W 175mm) which has been solid-forged with the socket from a single piece of manganese steel (no welds or weak points), and then been given an epoxy coating. Its round corners meanwhile help to significantly reduce the risk of penetration damage to underground pipes and cables when you are digging.
This tool also features a collar with a protective wear sleeve, insulating your hands for safe use at all times. Comfortable use meanwhile is ensured by the D-shaped handle of the 28” (711mm) shaft, made from one fibreglass piece for excellent strength and longevity
