This model of Bulldog’s Premier Taper Mouth Shovel has the added benefit of flat treads welded to the blade’s upper edge. These allow you to use the power of your legs in the digging action whilst protecting your footwear and preventing you from slipping when working in wet and muddy conditions. Sometimes preferred over the Square Mouth Shovel, this tool is designed for trench work, concrete mixing, working tarmac, and other general shovelling tasks.
The blade meanwhile is a No.2 head, sized at (L) 315mm x (W) 250mm and solid-forged with the socket from one piece of steel, ensuring excellent strength and durability, and meaning there are no welds or weak points. Its tapered design also makes this shovel ideal for digging in areas where space is tight. The 28” (711mm) shaft is equally tough, boasting a solid fibreglass construction. Finally, comfortable use is ensured by the D-shaped handle, consisting of a robust metal frame and a wooden grip.
