Product Description

To describe the CS-280TES as being “as light as a feather” would be an exaggeration (you certainly wouldn’t want to meet the bird from which such a feather had been plucked, anyhow). But at an incredibly miniscule 2.9kg, the CS-280TES is the lightest chainsaw currently available in ECHO’s range. A potent little top handle number designed specifically for professional tree surgeons, the CS-280TES is therefore incredibly manoeuvrable and perfect for even the trickiest cutting jobs.

Driven by a compact yet powerful 26.9cc two-stroke petrol engine, the CS-280TES also benefits from ECHO’s clever Power Boost Tornado™ technology. This innovative system optimises the combustion process, thereby ensuring increased power, greater fuel efficiency and reduced exhaust emissions. Equally handy is the inclusion of a variety of features designed to make starting quick and hassle-free, including an easy-access primer and choke, and ECHO’s brilliantly practical Easy Start system, which reduces the resistance of the starter cord by up to 50%. Fitted as standard with a tough 25cm (10”) guide bar and 3/8” chain, the CS-280TES’s power means that it will quickly and effortlessly cut through tough tree branches and woody shrubs. To help ensure optimum performance, moreover, the CS-280TES also features an automatic oil pump and a side mounted chain tensioner, with the oil pump regulating chain lubrication according to the requirements of the job at hand, and the chain tensioner allowing the chain to be quickly tightened or loosened as required. For added safety, meanwhile, a protective front hand guard and effective inertia brake system are both also included.

As well as being remarkably light, the CS-280TES is also fitted with an ergonomically designed top handle which permits effective one-handed cutting when working at a height. With easy access to all controls and a supremely well-balanced design, the CS-280TES is therefore brilliantly easy to operate and makes even the most challenging jobs significantly easier. The inclusion of a belt hook, moreover, ensures complete freedom of movement when climbing or otherwise attempting to find a secure working position. Supplied as standard with either a five year domestic warranty or a two year commercial manufacturer’s warranty for added peace of mind, ECHO’s CS-280TES should only be used by qualified tree surgeons.

Make sure you are using your chainsaw safely and read our free advice article when you have a spare moment.

About Echo
ECHO has been a leading Japanese manufacturer of commercial quality outdoor power equipment for over thirty years, but the origins of the company can be traced back further still. This is because ECHO is a branch of the Yamabiko Corporation, which was formed with the merger of the Kioritz Corporation and the Shindaiwa Corporation after WWII. Both of these companies had over fifty years of experience in their respective fields and the Yamabiko Corporation continued this heritage by drawing upon the experience of both, releasing a revolutionary new backpack power-duster in 1947. This was followed by the first Kyoritsu ‘power scythe’ brushcutter 1960, and in 1968 by the first “ECHO” product, the CS-80 chainsaw. Since then, ECHO has become a name associated with high performance, highly durable and superbly easy to use power tools across the globe.

Extremely reliable and dependable, ECHO tools are ergonomically designed to be comfortable to use and perform to the very highest professional standards every working day. ECHO also continues to innovate, striving to stay at the cutting edge of technological development in order to provide the best products possible. This is particularly evident in the company’s development of low noise, low vibration and low emission engine technology, making ECHO tools significantly easier to use and better for the environment than many competing machines.

These days the iconic orange casing of ECHO power tools can be found in garden sheds and garages throughout the UK, and with a wide range of products available for both commercial and domestic users, including a variety of handy chainsaws, hedgetrimmers, brushcutters and leaf blowers, there is therefore almost certainly an ECHO tool ideal for you, whatever your particular requirements.
