Product Description

Designed for use by homeowners and agricultural workers, ECHO’s CS-280WES is a compact petrol chainsaw perfect for light pruning work and chopping firewood. There are, however, many chainsaws which are good for such tasks, so what is it that makes the CS-280WES stand out from the competition? Well, at only 3.1kg (without guide bar and chain) the CS-280WES is the lightest rear handle chainsaw in ECHO’s entire range, providing a level of manoeuvrability offered by few other saws and truly exceptional accuracy of cut.

Fitted as standard with a sturdy 30cm (12”) guide bar and 3/8” pitch saw chain, this means that the CS-280WES handles magnificently and excels with even the most precise cutting work. The CS-280WES is, as such, a popular machine in the world of chainsaw carving, providing the clout and the subtlety required to change a block of wood into a bravura work of sculpture. Although perhaps not its main use, this artistic sideline helps to demonstrate the incredibly versatility of this machine, delivering top quality results whether you are trimming woody hedgerows and light tree branches or indulging in a spot of arboreal sculpting.

Power is supplied via a compact 26.9cc two-stroke petrol engine, featuring Power Boost Tornado™ technology for increased fuel efficiency, greater power and reduced emissions. This system works by improving the combustion process, thus ensuring that fuel is burned more completely and performance remains optimal in all conditions. Consistently excellent results are further guaranteed by features such as the aero-mechanically engineered G-Force Engine Air Pre-Cleaner dust control system, along with an adjustable oil pump which regulates chain lubrication according to the conditions at hand (e.g., bar and chain combination, or the kind of wood being cut).

As well as all of this, the CS-280WES also features a variety of ergonomic design elements which make using this tough little saw reliably stress-free. ECHO’s Easy Start system, for example, saves time and effort from the moment you start working by reducing the resistance of the starter cord, while the effective inertia chain brake provides vital added protection against kickback events during use. A clip-on air filter cover, moreover, facilitates routine maintenance to help ensure greater long term reliability, combining with ECHO’s precision engineering for a long and dependable service life. To help provide a little extra peace of mind, however, ECHO also offers with either a five year domestic warranty or a two year commercial warranty with every machine.

About Echo
ECHO has been a leading Japanese manufacturer of commercial quality outdoor power equipment for over thirty years, but the origins of the company can be traced back further still. This is because ECHO is a branch of the Yamabiko Corporation, which was formed with the merger of the Kioritz Corporation and the Shindaiwa Corporation after WWII. Both of these companies had over fifty years of experience in their respective fields and the Yamabiko Corporation continued this heritage by drawing upon the experience of both, releasing a revolutionary new backpack power-duster in 1947. This was followed by the first Kyoritsu ‘power scythe’ brushcutter 1960, and in 1968 by the first “ECHO” product, the CS-80 chainsaw. Since then, ECHO has become a name associated with high performance, highly durable and superbly easy to use power tools across the globe.

Extremely reliable and dependable, ECHO tools are ergonomically designed to be comfortable to use and perform to the very highest professional standards every working day. ECHO also continues to innovate, striving to stay at the cutting edge of technological development in order to provide the best products possible. This is particularly evident in the company’s development of low noise, low vibration and low emission engine technology, making ECHO tools significantly easier to use and better for the environment than many competing machines.

These days the iconic orange casing of ECHO power tools can be found in garden sheds and garages throughout the UK, and with a wide range of products available for both commercial and domestic users, including a variety of handy chainsaws, hedgetrimmers, brushcutters and leaf blowers, there is therefore almost certainly an ECHO tool ideal for you, whatever your particular requirements.
