Top-handled chainsaws are only available to qualified tree surgeons with a CS39 certificate.
A top handled chainsaw is a very specific piece of kit, essential for the tricky cutting work faced on a day-to-day basis by professional tree surgeons. Key to the effectiveness of any such machine is striking a balance between power and weight, with enough clout to cut through tough tree branches a necessity but a lightweight and portable build equally important. ECHO’s brilliant CS-360TES is a saw designed with these factors in mind, providing both manoeuvrability and premium grade performance to make even the most challenging cutting work eminently manageable.
Weighing only 3.4kg (without bar and chain) and fitted with an ergonomically designed handle, this well-balanced machine excels when it comes to portability and ease of operation. Designed for one-handed use by trained tree surgeons, the CS-360TES’s excellent handling makes life much easier when cutting tricky branches at a height, while a practical belt hook ensures complete freedom of movement while climbing or otherwise attempting to find a secure cutting position. Additional features designed to make the working day just a little bit less stressful include an auto-choke and ECHO’s clever Easy Start system, the latter of which reduces starter cord resistance by up to 50% to help make starting reassuringly hassle-free.
User-friendly it may be, but the CS-360TES also packs plenty of punch and features a powerful 35.8cc two-stroke petrol engine. This engine is also notable for featuring ECHO’s innovative Power Boost Tornado™ technology, which optimises the combustion process to enhance performance, increase fuel efficiency, and reduce particle emissions. This makes the CS-360TES more effective than comparable machines powered by conventional two-stroke engines, providing enough cutting power to tackle even medium-sized branches effortlessly. Equipped as standard with a sturdy 35cm (14”) guide bar and 3/8” chain, the CS-360TES is particularly suited to tough cutting work in challenging situations.
To help ensure optimal performance every time, moreover, the CS-360TES also incorporates an automatic oil pump and a side mounted chain tensioner; the oil pump regulates the flow of oil to the chain to suit the cutting conditions at hand, making it particularly handy when working with different kinds of wood or different bar and chain combinations, while the chain tensioner provides an easy method for tightening of the saw chain as and when required. A safety enhancing front hand guard and inertia chain brake are also included to offer added user protection, especially against potentially dangerous kickback events. An optional bumper spike, moreover, provides a handy pivot point when cutting thicker branches. Supplied as standard with either a five year domestic warranty or a two year commercial manufacturer’s warranty, ECHO’s CS-360TES is therefore a brilliantly effective machine suitable for use by qualified tree surgeons.
