Very much unlike the poetry of Edward Lear, ECHO’s ultra-tough CS-450 15” petrol chainsaw is a no-nonsense type affair. A professional grade machine designed for use by landscapers, farmers and homeowners, the CS-450 is ideal for felling and logging medium-sized trees of all kinds. In fact, had Lear’s owl and pussycat taken ECHO’s CS-450 with them on their beautiful pea green boat, and had they not been such frivolous beasts, they could probably have deforested the land where the Bong-tree grows in a matter of days.
Reassuringly powerful, the CS-450 features an impressive 45.0cc two-stroke petrol engine, with ECHO’s innovative Power Boost Tornado™ technology included to optimise the combustion process. By doing this the CS-450 is capable of offering increased power, superb fuel efficiency and lower emissions than otherwise similar saws which feature a conventional two-stroke engine. With a high capacity 0.45 litre fuel tank also included to save on time spent refuelling, the CS-450 is therefore ideally suited to taking on heavier commercial workloads.
Equally impressive is the CS-450’s cutting gear, with a sturdy 38cm (15”) guide bar and 0.325” chain providing more than enough clout to tackle even the toughest tree trunks and branches. This magnificent machine has much more to offer though, with an adjustable automatic oil pump included to regulate chain lubrication and an easy-access side mounted chain tensioner available to enable hassle-free tightening of the chain prior to operation. Each of these features helps to further boost performance, thereby ensuring great results regardless of the job and cutting conditions at hand. An optional bumper spike, meanwhile, is included to provide a helpful pivot point when felling and bucking trees for firewood.
Weighing an impressively negligible 5kg (without bar and chain), the CS-450 is also pleasingly portable and easy to handle for such a powerful machine, making it perfect for use on large farms and estates. A variety of additional features further ensure comfort and convenience during extended periods of operation, including a G-Force Engine Air Pre-Cleaner dust control system and anti-vibration cushions on the rear handle. For added safety, moreover, the CS-450 also features an effective inertia chain brake which activates automatically in the event of dangerous kickback. What’s more, with high quality components such as the commercial grade air filter and either a five year domestic warranty or a two year commercial warranty supplied as standard, ECHO’s CS-450 is happily capable of providing many years of reliable “no-nonsense” service.

About EchoECHO has been a leading Japanese manufacturer of commercial quality outdoor power equipment for over thirty years, but the origins of the company can be traced back further still. This is because ECHO is a branch of the Yamabiko Corporation, which was formed with the merger of the Kioritz Corporation and the Shindaiwa Corporation after WWII. Both of these companies had over fifty years of experience in their respective fields and the Yamabiko Corporation continued this heritage by drawing upon the experience of both, releasing a revolutionary new backpack power-duster in 1947. This was followed by the first Kyoritsu ‘power scythe’ brushcutter 1960, and in 1968 by the first “ECHO” product, the CS-80 chainsaw. Since then, ECHO has become a name associated with high performance, highly durable and superbly easy to use power tools across the globe.
Extremely reliable and dependable, ECHO tools are ergonomically designed to be comfortable to use and perform to the very highest professional standards every working day. ECHO also continues to innovate, striving to stay at the cutting edge of technological development in order to provide the best products possible. This is particularly evident in the company’s development of low noise, low vibration and low emission engine technology, making ECHO tools significantly easier to use and better for the environment than many competing machines.
These days the iconic orange casing of ECHO power tools can be found in garden sheds and garages throughout the UK, and with a wide range of products available for both commercial and domestic users, including a variety of handy chainsaws, hedgetrimmers, brushcutters and leaf blowers, there is therefore almost certainly an ECHO tool ideal for you, whatever your particular requirements.
