The mantis shrimp is a peculiar creature. It might not look much, with its colourful body, tiny legs and busy eyestalks, but it packs a surprising punch; with muscular claws which strike at speeds of up to 50 mph, the diminutive shrimp is in fact a voracious predator and has even been known to smash its way out of aquaria. The analogy between this tiny killer and ECHO’s SRM-265TESL High Torque brushcutter is far from exact, not least as ECHO’s ergonomic design principles make the brushcutter much safer to handle than the shrimp, but both are far more powerful than their size may suggest.
The SRM-265TESL’s 25.4cc two-stroke petrol engine, for example, might not seem like much on paper, but with ECHO’s High Torque technology providing a gear reduction ratio of 1:2.07, this excellent machine can offer up to 50% more cutting power than previous models. Furthermore, with an innovative Power Boost Tornado system™ also included to further increase power (while also reducing noise, vibration and emission levels) the SRM-265TESL can easily compete with much higher capacity machines.
Supplied as standard with a versatile dual nylon line trimmer head, the SRM-265TESL excels at both precise trimming, such as edging lawn borders, and bigger grass clearance jobs, such as mowing verges or other areas hard to reach with a conventional lawnmower. These heavier tasks are made much easier by the inclusion of an efficient ‘Tap & Go’ line feed system; simply tap the cutting head against the ground and the nylon line is advanced to an optimal working length, saving you valuable time and effort while you work. A robust debris shield, meanwhile, works to deflect grass clippings, soil, stones and anything else thrown up by the trimmer head, thus allowing you to work in safety and comfort at all times.
For ease of use, the SRM-265TESL also features a handy Easy Start system which reduces starter cord resistance, and even digitally controlled discharge ignition for instant power. Further convenience is offered by this fine brushcutter’s clustered control system, designed for ease of access, and an ergonomic loop handle which offers both comfort and superb freedom of movement. Moreover, with an optional grass blade and a hedge trimmer attachment also available, the SRM-265TESL can be quickly adapted to suit a wide range of tasks, making it ideal for most domestic cutting jobs and even light commercial work.

About EchoECHO has been a leading Japanese manufacturer of commercial quality outdoor power equipment for over thirty years, but the origins of the company can be traced back further still. This is because ECHO is a branch of the Yamabiko Corporation, which was formed with the merger of the Kioritz Corporation and the Shindaiwa Corporation after WWII. Both of these companies had over fifty years of experience in their respective fields and the Yamabiko Corporation continued this heritage by drawing upon the experience of both, releasing a revolutionary new backpack power-duster in 1947. This was followed by the first Kyoritsu ‘power scythe’ brushcutter 1960, and in 1968 by the first “ECHO” product, the CS-80 chainsaw. Since then, ECHO has become a name associated with high performance, highly durable and superbly easy to use power tools across the globe.
Extremely reliable and dependable, ECHO tools are ergonomically designed to be comfortable to use and perform to the very highest professional standards every working day. ECHO also continues to innovate, striving to stay at the cutting edge of technological development in order to provide the best products possible. This is particularly evident in the company’s development of low noise, low vibration and low emission engine technology, making ECHO tools significantly easier to use and better for the environment than many competing machines.
These days the iconic orange casing of ECHO power tools can be found in garden sheds and garages throughout the UK, and with a wide range of products available for both commercial and domestic users, including a variety of handy chainsaws, hedgetrimmers, brushcutters and leaf blowers, there is therefore almost certainly an ECHO tool ideal for you, whatever your particular requirements.
