The challenges involved in maintaining a gratifyingly tidy garden are manifold and depend to a large extent upon where you are working. In built-up residential areas, for example, using noisy petrol-powered machinery is simply impractical, and a very good way of upsetting the neighbours on an otherwise serene Sunday afternoon. This is where owning a high quality electric grass trimmer can be handy. Efco’s 8061 Electric, for example, is a pleasingly light and manoeuvrable mains powered grass trimmer which is perfect for trimming and edging lawns in small domestic gardens, but without the noise, fumes and running costs involved in using a petrol machine.
The 8061’s powerful 600 watt electric motor is cleverly positioned at the rear of the machine, thus balancing out the trimmer head for excellent manoeuvrability at all times. As it is powered via the mains, you don’t have to worry about running out of petrol and service requirements are minimal. More importantly, the 8061 is far quieter than a petrol machine, as well as better for the environment, so provides a much more pleasant working experience than most grass trimmers and brushcutters. To help ensure optimal performance, the motor also features copper windings which increase efficiency, while a safety enhancing thermal cut-out system works to prevent damage in case of overheating.
A practical ‘Tap & Go’ dual nylon line trimmer head is supplied as standard, offering a combination of cutting power, ease of use and precision which will allow you to achieve an impressively neat finish with very little effort. Moreover, the semi-automatic ‘Tap & Go’ line feed system means that you can advance the cutting line by simply tapping the trimmer head against the ground, boosting efficiency and convenience even further. A sturdy plastic blade guard, meanwhile, deflects grass clippings, stones and any other debris accidentally thrown up during use, allowing you to work assured of your comfort and safety.
The 8061’s curved steel shaft is designed to provide a comfortable working position and features a self-lubricating liner for added durability and lower vibration levels, while the ergonomically designed loop handle is clad in soft rubber to improve grip and control. This, along with the trimmer’s low overall weight (only 3.2kg), helps to ensure that Efco’s smart little grass trimmer is always easy to operate, even for less experienced users, making it an excellent choice for maintaining a luxuriously tidy finish in smaller residential gardens.
