There aren’t too many things that a lawn needs to be happy, but air and water are definitely important. Over time, however, dead grass and moss can build up on your lawn’s surface, creating a thick thatch layer which prevents air, sunlight and moisture from getting where it is needed. To keep your lawn healthy over the long term, it is therefore important to loosen and remove the thatch layer at least once a year.
You can, of course, hire a dedicated scarifier to do this job, or even do it manually with a rake if you have a lot of time to spare and fancy the exercise, but if you already own one of Efco’s brilliant MZ 2030 mini-tillers this scarifier attachment offers a handy way of saving time, effort and money while still dealing with that troublesome thatch layer. Easy to install without any need for additional tools, the scarifier attachment fits in place of the MZ 2030’s standard cutters and uses rows of sturdy metal tines to penetrate dense thatch and lift moss from the lawn, while the rugged wheels provide stability and prevent damage to grass. Once excessive thatch is removed the lawn will be able to breathe again and plenty of moisture will reach the roots of your grass, so this scarifier attachment will both increase the versatility of your MZ 2030 mini-tiller and help further ensure your garden’s long-term wellbeing.
