Product Description

A significant step up from a basic grass trimmer, Efco’s ‘Tough-Tech’ brushcutters are designed for heavy and frequent use clearing overgrown and uncultivated vegetation in tough conditions. The STARK 3800 S, for example, is a reassuringly sturdy machine designed to deliver exceptional efficiency and constant quality time after time, even in the face of non-stop use and hostile working environments.

A powerful straight-shaft brushcutter, the STARK 3800 S is driven by an industrious 36.2cc two-stroke petrol engine, with a semi-transparent, high capacity 0.87 litre fuel tank included to increase run time between fuel stops and help you manage your working day. The engine benefits inestimably from the addition of clever ‘Burn Right’ technology, which optimises combustion in order to improve fuel efficiency, reduce running costs and cut harmful emissions (including unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides) by up to 80%. This is especially important over extended periods of use, as fuel costs can mount and exposure to excessive fumes can affect your health. For added convenience, meanwhile, a user-friendly recoil starter system offers hassle-free starting and smooth engine pick-up with no kickback.

In terms of cutting, the STARK 3800 S’s dual nylon line ‘Tap & Go’ trimmer head is satisfyingly versatile, equally as capable of precision trimming along lawn edges and borders as clearing larger areas of long grass and weeds. Efficiency and ease of use are bolstered considerably by the semi-automatic ‘Tap & Go’ line feed system, as the cutting line can be effortlessly advanced to an optimal working length by simply tapping the trimmer head against the ground as you work. Moreover, with a steel grass blade also supplied denser patches of rough grass and scrub should pose no problem whatsoever. A sturdy plastic debris guard, meanwhile, offers added protection by deflecting any grass, stones and soil thrown up by the trimmer head.

However, let us not forget that the STARK 3800 S is primarily designed to be tough. A professional grade piston, for example, offers constant and unwavering long-term reliability, while the aluminium recoil housing is designed withstand intensive stress during extended periods of use. Similarly, the brushcutter’s aluminium tubing and a 7mm diameter steel drive shaft ensure outstanding durability and maximum power transmission for superbly dependable performance. Other handy features designed to facilitate maintenance and extend the service life of this tough machine include a generously proportioned flywheel to improve engine cooling, and a protective felt filter for added engine protection in dusty environments.

This remarkable toughness is nicely balanced with a range of convenient features, including an ergonomic loop handle to provide superb comfort and control and self-lubricating bearings on the transmission which reduce vibration levels to prevent fatigue. This makes the STARK 3800 S as easy to use as it is effective, and thus an ideal choice for anyone looking for a machine capable of performing excellently over extended periods in demanding conditions.

About Efco
Giacomo Ferretti set the foundations of the Efco brand on the road to success back in 1978, spotting an opportunity to satisfy an Italian market beginning to demand high quality outdoor power tools. He responded by producing Efco lawnmowers, brush cutters, and chainsaws. Due to the high quality of the machinery made, the manufacturing of these products soon developed an enviable reputation amongst forestry and agricultural workers, users that demanded the best performance possible from their equipment. Sales of Efco lawnmowers began to soar during the intervening years and the Efco brand is now internationally recognised as a leader in the field of garden machinery manufacturing.

They take their role very seriously though, and were the first company in this sector to achieve official certification in three crucial areas of business sustainability: the ISO 9001:2008 certification for quality in 1996, the SA 8000:2008 certificate for ethical processes of production in 2006 and the ISO 14001:2004, recognising Efco's efforts to reduce their impact on the environment with an ongoing commitment to become Carbon Neutral starting in 2010.
