Flymo Compact 3400 Electric Lawnrake

  • Product Details

Flymo’s Compact 3400 electric lawnrake is a machine which helps keep your grass looking lush and green by removing moss and thatch, giving the grass roots space to breathe and absorb essential moisture. With its compact size and environmentally friendly electric motor, the Compact 3400 is ideal for maintaining a pristine finish on smaller areas of lawn with a mains power supply close to hand.

To clear loose vegetable matter from your lawn, the Compact 3400 uses a 34cm cylinder rake, powered by a 750-watt motor and armed with sprung tines similar to those of a handheld rake, which gently removes detritus from your grass without damaging the lawn. Moss and thatch is then gathered into a unique thirty-four litre ‘compacting’ collector, which compresses clippings as you work to improve collection performance. Moreover, the collector also features a handy little window, so you can see when it’s getting full without having to stop and open the box.

The Flymo Compact 3400 also offers remarkable flexibility via a single lever height adjustment system, making it quick and easy to adjust the working height to one of six positions between -5mm and 8mm. This significantly improves the machine’s versatility and ensures optimal results whatever the working conditions at hand, further bolstering the performance of this already impressive machine. About Flymo
Inspired by the invention of Christopher Cockerell's hovercraft several years earlier, it was in 1964 that Karl Dahlman's hover mower design won a gold medal at the Brussels Inventors' Fair, thereby marking the beginning of one of the best known brands in British gardening. Full-scale production of petrol-powered Flymo hover mowers was in place by 1965, based in the new factory at Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. A few years later the first electric hover mowers were launched and a whole new world of mowing was available to the British public. Flymo hover mowers have been finding homes in British garden sheds ever since.

The Flymo hover mowers brand has gone from strength to strength since these early days and it is hard to imagine visiting a garden centre now and not seeing the bright orange machines lining the aisles, with tools varying from battery powered grass trimmers to electric garden vacuums. Now part of the Electrolux Group, Flymo can rightly claim to sell over one million products within the U.K. during a financial year. They also boast a considerable export market; in doing so they have received multiple Queen's Awards for their achievements.
