A powerful hover mower, manoeuvrable and light enough to pick up, with folding handle for ease of storage. Ideal for use on slopes or uneven surfaces beyond the capabilities of a wheeled mower.

The Flymo Glider 330 is one of the more powerful electric hover mowers that you will find on the market. However, that power is combined with the kind of light-weight manoeuvrability that hover mowers known for, while providing the sheer convenience that many gardeners think they have to go to a wheeled lawnmower to achieve. The Flymo Glider 330’s weight and manoeuvrability make it the ideal mower for even less experienced gardeners, as it makes it easy to use on flat lawns. As with other Flymo products, the Glider 330 creates a cushion of air for it to float on, making previously difficult obstacles such as slopes or uneven surfaces, impassable barriers for wheeled lawnmowers, just as easy as the flattest of lawns.

The Flymo Glider 330’s light and compact design has other advantages as well. Transporting and storing the 330 is exceptionally convenient. Although the mower boasts a powerful motor and capacious collection box that definitely add to the machine’s weight and bulk, the design is refined enough that you can still pick up and carry it around with absolute ease. The mower’s sturdy handle can be easily folded away so that the mower takes up less space and can be stored either upright or horizontally.

This is all a part of the user-friendly ethos behind Flymo’s designs. They pay attention to even the smallest details of their work to make sure that this machine not only works efficiently, but is a pleasure to use at the same time. For example, the fold away handle of the Flymo Glider 330 also features a special cable clip. This makes it easy to coil the power cable up when you’ve finished using it, so that when you return to it you won’t find a spaghetti of tangles waiting for you.

Another feature that shows off the thought that has gone into the Flymo Glider 330’s usability is its expansive grass collecting box. As with all aspects of this lawnmower, the grass collecting box is designed for maximum convenience. Its generous 26 litre capacity ensures that you can mow for a long time before you’re forced to stop and empty your clippings. The grass collection box’s translucent material and large, conveniently placed window mean that you can keep a constant eye on just how full the box is, so your mowing isn’t put on hold by any nasty surprises! The grass collection box is also notable for featuring Flymo’s unique lift action design. This means the box can be simply lifted out of the lawnmower and emptied without having to deal with the usual clips and switches, making it a job that you can potentially do with only one hand.

Meanwhile, beneath the machine you’ll find a durable metal blade that can be adjusted to a range of different cutting heights between 12 and 32mm, making it easier to tackle grass that you might have thought was too long, wet or choked with weeds for a lighter mower to handle.

About Flymo
Inspired by the invention of Christopher Cockerell's hovercraft several years earlier, it was in 1964 that Karl Dahlman's hover mower design won a gold medal at the Brussels Inventors' Fair, thereby marking the beginning of one of the best known brands in British gardening. Full-scale production of petrol-powered Flymo hover mowers was in place by 1965, based in the new factory at Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. A few years later the first electric hover mowers were launched and a whole new world of mowing was available to the British public. Flymo hover mowers have been finding homes in British garden sheds ever since.

The Flymo hover mowers brand has gone from strength to strength since these early days and it is hard to imagine visiting a garden centre now and not seeing the bright orange machines lining the aisles, with tools varying from battery powered grass trimmers to electric garden vacuums. Now part of the Electrolux Group, Flymo can rightly claim to sell over one million products within the U.K. during a financial year. They also boast a considerable export market; in doing so they have received multiple Queen's Awards for their achievements.
