The innovative Flymo 1200R robotic lawnmower is designed to do your mowing for you and give you more free time to enjoy your garden. Using hi-tech sensors to avoid obstacles, the Flymo 1200R is most effective on lawns of up to 400 square metres.
For decades now, science fiction and old episodes of Tomorrow’s World have promised that, in the future, humans would live a life of luxury and ease, waited upon hand and foot by robot butlers. Sadly, this vision of the future has not quite come to pass yet, but technology is now beginning to catch up with our dreams; the Flymo 1200R robotic lawnmower is undoubtedly a taste of the future, but more importantly it will also make keeping your lawn neat and tidy an entirely effortless experience.
The 1200R robotic lawnmower is yet another innovative machine from Flymo, and is designed to do your mowing for you, giving you more free time to do other things (and to enjoy your garden). It is also ideal for those with limited mobility, or anyone who for whatever reason can’t mow their lawn with a traditional mower. Following an irregular pattern to help avoid obstacles and to preserve the surface of your lawn, the Flymo 1200R can be relied upon to keep lawns of up to 400m² in pristine condition. All you need to do is set mowing times via the simple to use and follow interface and menu system, at which point the Flymo 1200R will simply set to work at the appointed time; thanks to its water resistant bodywork, the 1200R can keep working come rain or shine!
The Flymo 1200R cuts grass utilising three pivoting razor-sharp blades, while grass clippings are returned to the soil to promote healthy lawn growth. The 1200R also comes with a 150m easy-to-place boundary wire, which lets the mower know where to mow, while the cutting height can be set to between 20mm and 50mm via a convenient rotary knob, allowing you to adapt the 1200R to provide the best results on your lawn.
The Flymo 1200R is powered by a long lasting, no fuss lithium-ion 18V/1.6Ah battery and will automatically return to the charging dock when the power begins to run low. Charged via the mains, the 1200R produces no emissions so is more environmentally friendly than a traditional petrol lawnmower, and the electric motor runs so quietly that you can happily set it to mow at night without having to worry about disturbing the neighbours.
This plucky little robot is also designed to be as safe and secure as possible; collision sensors work to help the robot avoid obstacles, and lift and tilt sensors are set to disable the cutting blades should anyone pick the mower up. The mower can also be brought to a halt at any time via the easy-to-access stop button. The Flymo 1200R is therefore as safe as it is convenient and perfect for anyone who can’t (or simply doesn’t want to) spend their valuable free time maintaining a perfect lawn.

About FlymoInspired by the invention of Christopher Cockerell's hovercraft several years earlier, it was in 1964 that Karl Dahlman's hover mower design won a gold medal at the Brussels Inventors' Fair, thereby marking the beginning of one of the best known brands in British gardening. Full-scale production of petrol-powered Flymo hover mowers was in place by 1965, based in the new factory at Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. A few years later the first electric hover mowers were launched and a whole new world of mowing was available to the British public. Flymo hover mowers have been finding homes in British garden sheds ever since.
The Flymo hover mowers brand has gone from strength to strength since these early days and it is hard to imagine visiting a garden centre now and not seeing the bright orange machines lining the aisles, with tools varying from battery powered grass trimmers to electric garden vacuums. Now part of the Electrolux Group, Flymo can rightly claim to sell over one million products within the U.K. during a financial year. They also boast a considerable export market; in doing so they have received multiple Queen's Awards for their achievements.
