A powerful, advanced electric hover mower, capable of coping with long or wet grass, slopes and uneven surfaces.

Product Description

The Flymo Turbo 400 is an advanced electric hover mower, ideal for a medium or large garden. Its powerful 1500W motor is designed to tackle any tough grass conditions, whether your lawn is extremely long, rough or wet. The 400’s cushion of air makes it an ideal choice for uneven ground or slopes, and also renders it supremely manoeuvrable. In spite of its powerful motor the Turbo 400 is very light and easy to use for anyone, whatever their strength or experience.

This machine has a cutting width of 40cm, making it perfect for the medium or larger garden, and a durable metal blade which will not only prove tougher than a flimsy plastic blade, but also provides an effective cut on grass you might think too long, wet or choked with weeds to tackle with a light mower. Adding to this versatility, the Turbo 400 also has five cutting heights, enabling you to use your machine in a wide range of mowing situations. The machine is also simple to operate; the cutting heights can be easily adjusted by means of the spacers provided, and the starting mechanism is simple and features Flymo’s advanced switch system, rendering the machine equally easy to use for left- or right-handers.

Every detail on this machine is designed to make it as user-friendly as possible. The machine is light enough to carry and its sturdy handle folds down to make the mower easy to store, whether lying flat or upright. There is a safety brake fitted to prevent the blade turning when the machine is not in use and make the machine as safe as possible to transport and store. The lack of a clippings bag might seem like a disadvantage, but the machine will help you use these to help keep your lawn looking its best by mulching the clippings as much as possible and allowing the nutrients to pass back into the soil, keeping your lawn healthy and helping to reduce clover growth.

About Flymo
Inspired by the invention of Christopher Cockerell's hovercraft several years earlier, it was in 1964 that Karl Dahlman's hover mower design won a gold medal at the Brussels Inventors' Fair, thereby marking the beginning of one of the best known brands in British gardening. Full-scale production of petrol-powered Flymo hover mowers was in place by 1965, based in the new factory at Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. A few years later the first electric hover mowers were launched and a whole new world of mowing was available to the British public. Flymo hover mowers have been finding homes in British garden sheds ever since.

The Flymo hover mowers brand has gone from strength to strength since these early days and it is hard to imagine visiting a garden centre now and not seeing the bright orange machines lining the aisles, with tools varying from battery powered grass trimmers to electric garden vacuums. Now part of the Electrolux Group, Flymo can rightly claim to sell over one million products within the U.K. during a financial year. They also boast a considerable export market; in doing so they have received multiple Queen's Awards for their achievements.
