A professional grade hedgetrimmer designed for heavy duty use, Husqvarna's 226 HD60S is durable, well-balanced, powerful and reassuringly reliable. It boasts a potent 60cm double-edged trimmer capable of delivering up to 4,100 cuts per minute.
As Billy Ocean once sang; when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Wise words indeed, and when it comes to tough horticultural hedgerow maintenance work there are few machines tougher than Husqvarna’s 226 HD60 S. A professional grade hedgetrimmer designed for heavy duty agricultural, horticultural and commercial use, the 226 HD60 S is durable, exceptionally well-balanced, powerful and reassuringly reliable. Pretty much everything you want from a top quality hedgetrimmer, in fact.
At the heart of this impressive machine is a hi-tech 23.6cc X-Torq® two-stroke petrol engine, built with a design which reduces harmful exhaust emissions by up to 75% while increasing fuel efficiency by up to 20%. This means that the 226 HD60 S is cheaper and cleaner running than many comparable hedgetrimmers, which has to be a good thing. As well as being good for your pocket and the environment this powerful engine also features a fuel pump to ensure hassle-free starting, so is thus pleasingly easy to get running (even on cold mornings).
Cutting power, meanwhile, comes via a potent 60cm double-edged trimmer blade. This tough cutter is capable of delivering up to 4,100 cuts per minute and features a tooth gap width of 28mm, providing a recommended maximum cutting diameter of 22mm. The blade’s razor-sharp, hardened cutting teeth, moreover, are specifically designed for optimum cutting performance, tackling tough vegetation with satisfying ease. To ensure accuracy of cut, meanwhile, the 226 HD60’s rear handle features a five-position swivel mechanism, allowing you to adapt the working angle to the situation at hand. When cutting the sheer tops and sides of shaped hedgerows, for example, adjusting the rear handle will allow you to maintain a neutral hand position and thus achieve greater comfort and precision as you work.
Other handy ergonomic features which the 226 HD60 can boast include Husqvarna’s clever LowVib® technology, which isolates the user’s hands from engine vibration to prevent strain during prolonged periods of use, as well as a standalone starter unit which makes it easier to replace the starter cord if required. As the 226 HD60 is designed for professional use, however, it is important that it is also rugged enough to stand up to the rigors of such work. Luckily, Husqvarna’s exceptional engineering and dedication to build quality means that this machine is just about as sturdy as they come, with its components developed specifically for a long life under tough conditions. As such, the 226 HD60 would make a steadfast companion for any professional gardener, providing an excellent method of keeping unruly, fast-growing hedgerows under complete control.

About HusqvarnaBelieve it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.
Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
