Do you love to mow your lawn, or would you rather spend your Sundays doing something different? If beautiful turf is your passion but cutting the grass of a sunny weekend morning is not, an Automower might be just the answer. Not quite entry level and not the snazziest option on offer, the Husqvarna Automower 310 is a basic model for mid-sized lawns of some complexity.
New for 2016, the Automower 310 provides an effortless way of maintaining lawns of up to 1000m² in size. Purchase an installation kit or seek advice from a local dealer for effortless installation. Once this is done you can then sit back and let the Automower 310 set to work, freeing up your time for more important tasks (gin and tonic on the patio, anyone?). Powered by a hi-tech lithium-ion battery, the Automower 310 will even return to its docking station automatically to recharge. This ensures a truly “hands off” mowing experience.
The Automower 310 can do this thanks to the geniuses at Husqvarna and their decades of research and development, which make this one of the most advanced range of robotic lawnmowers on the market today. The Automower 310 features Husqvarna’s clever automatic passage-handling system, which allows it to identify the optimal path around obstacles without overworking any area of grass. The Automower 310’s powerful electric motor and large wheels, meanwhile, ensure superb performance even on difficult or sloped terrain, so there aren’t too many gardens which this plucky little robot can’t handle!
The Automower range cutting system consists of three pivoting razor blades mounted on a robust cutting disc, which allows your robotic mower to cut grass gradually over time, returning the mulch to the lawn. This gradual cutting process is actually healthier for your lawn, as it allows the grass to recover more effectively between cuts; Husqvarna compares it to letting sheep graze in your garden. Furthermore, the Automower 310’s cutting height can be quickly adjusted, while a clever “Weather Timer” automatically adjusts the mowing schedule to maximise mowing time during periods of strong grass growth, so you can rest assured of superb results all year round. Spiral cutting is an incredibly interesting feature – in areas of taller than average grass, the mower will concentrate on spirals to even out the differences for a more uniform lawn.
As the Automower 310 is designed to replace a standard petrol lawnmower in terms of its cutting capacity, it is also worth taking a moment to appreciate the various advantages afforded by its state-of-the-art battery technology. Battery powered machines are, after all, much cleaner and quieter running than their petrol equivalents, so the Automower 310’s low-noise, zero-emission performance makes it perfect for use in urban and residential areas where noisier petrol equipment can cause a disturbance.
Issues of safety and security are further addressed by the additional features, with lift and tilt sensors included to automatically shut off the cutting gear should anyone pick the Automower up, as well as a PIN code locking system and an anti-theft alarm to deter potential thieves. On top of all of this Husqvarna’s Automower 310 is built to be tough, with a sturdy plastic chassis and a weatherproof cover both ensuring a long and reliable service life. You can rely on the Automower 310 to take care of all routine lawn maintenance work come rain or shine, saving significant time and effort on your part without sacrificing on the quality of finish in your garden.
Please note, you will need to purchase an installation kit or arrange for dealer installation prior to using your new Automower.

About HusqvarnaBelieve it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.
Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
