How do you improve a classic? Given the well established reputation of Husqvarna’s 372XP rear handle chainsaw for providing outstanding cutting power and brilliant ease of operation, it would seem hard to imagine there could be much more that the professional forester or arborist could want from a saw. The clever men and women at Husqvarna aren’t the types to settle for the best though, not when there are still envelopes left to push; hence the 372XPG, a superb professional grade felling saw which offers all of the impressive performance of the 372XP with the additional advantage of heated handles!
Now, to the uninitiated that might seem like a relatively modest addition to a chainsaw’s design and one which couldn’t possibly make much of a difference in practice. Anyone who suggests that, however, has certainly never spent a long day out in the cold felling, de-limbing and bucking large trees, as low temperatures and damp conditions make challenging cutting work like this even more difficult. This is far more than a matter of comfort too, as the numbing effect of the cold makes a powerful chainsaw such as the 372XPG much more difficult to handle, while cold hands are also considerably more vulnerable to hand-arm vibration syndrome. As such, the 372XPG is significantly safer to use when working in cold, damp weather than any conventional chainsaw and allows you to work in comfort for longer. Another advantage that the 372XPG has over the standard 372XP is the inclusion of a heated carburettor, which along with the clever Smart Start® system makes this remarkable saw much easier to get running on cold mornings.
Other features which make the 372XPG particularly effective when faced with challenging cutting work in hostile environments include the innovative LowVib® anti-vibration system, which helps to prevent strain over extended periods of use, along with the durable three-piece forged crankshaft and magnesium crankcase which protect against the wear and tear inevitably incurred during heavy duty cutting work. A quick-release air filter and a centrifugal air cleaning system, moreover, help to facilitate routine maintenance and reduce overall service requirements, thus ensuring exceptional reliability and a longer service life. What’s more, a high capacity 0.77 litre fuel tank provides plenty of run time, even when taking on challenging cutting work, and as such saves valuable effort otherwise spent on refuelling.
Available as standard with a 45cm (18”), 50cm (20”) or 60cm (24”) guide bar and a 3/8” pitch chain (please call or e-mail to specify the preferred bar/chain combination for your order), the 372XPG’s incredibly hardworking 70.7cc X-Torq® two-stroke petrol engine provides more than enough cutting power to fell even large trees with reassuring efficiency. The 372XPG is additionally compatible with guide bars between 41cm (16”) and 71cm (28”) in length, so it is easy to customise your saw to suit the size of the job at hand. To ensure optimal performance every time the cutting system also incorporates an adjustable oil pump which regulates chain lubrication, along with an easy-access side-mounted chain tensioner to help ensure you can tighten or loosen the chain as required. An effective inertia-activated chain brake, meanwhile, is included for added protection against hazardous kickback.

About HusqvarnaBelieve it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.
Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
