If you are responsible for maintaining a large garden, farm or estate, you will inevitably often find that there is cutting work to be done; firewood needs chopping, trees need pruning and felling, and with various repair and home improvement jobs piling up there is also usually some DI- which needs Y-ing. Needless to say, all of these jobs are made much easier with a powerful, versatile and user-friendly chainsaw to hand. One fine example of such a machine is Husqvarna’s brilliant 435 e-series (Husqvarna 435E for short), a chainsaw which offers the same impressive cutting power and manoeuvrability of the older 435 model but with the added convenience of an improved Smart Start® system and a side-mounted tool-less chain tensioner.
As such, even inexperienced users will find the 435 e-series pleasingly easy to use. The enhanced Smart Start® system, for example, improves upon Husqvarna’s previous design and reduces starter cord resistance by up to 40%. Along with the inclusion of a primer bulb and a clever combined choke/stop control this means that getting the Husqvarna 435E running is satisfyingly hassle-free even on cold mornings, with a superbly efficient 40.9cc X-Torq® two-stroke petrol engine providing smooth running power in addition to reduced particle emissions. A transparent 0.37 litre fuel tank, meanwhile, makes it easier to see when refuelling is required.
The tool-free chain tensioning system is equally helpful, allowing you to effortlessly tighten or loosen the saw chain as and when required. And with a with a 37.5cm (15”) bar and .325” pitch chain fitted as standard (also compatible with 33cm-45cm/13”-18” guide bars), as well as a top chain speed of 17.3m/s, the 435 e-series will cut through even tough wood with remarkable efficiency. A fixed flow oil pump, moreover, regulates chain lubrication to ensure optimum cutting performance, while an effective inertia-activated chain brake helps to keep you safe in the event of hazardous kickback events.
Weighing only 4.4kg (without bar and chain), the Husqvarna 435E is also pleasingly easy to handle and capable of achieving great precision when faced with tricky cutting work. Ergonomically designed front and rear handles further ensure ease of operation by providing quick access to all controls, while Husqvarna’s innovative LowVib® anti-vibration system means that you can work for longer in complete comfort. Even cleaning and maintenance are made simple thanks to the inclusion of a centrifugal air cleaning system, a quick-release air filter and a snap-lock cylinder, so you can rest assured of consistently exceptional results. For a long and dependable service life, moreover, the 435 e-series has also been built to be tough, with components such as the three-piece forged crankshaft ensuring magnificent durability even when taking on heavy duty cutting work.

About HusqvarnaBelieve it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.
Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
