Husqvarna’s 440 is a second generation rear handle chainsaw designed for taking on heavy duty cutting work around large gardens, farms and estates. It is also a very eager to please machine, with a variety of features designed to make all sorts of cutting work, ranging from precision DIY jobs to felling small trees, as simple as is plausibly possible. This means that the Husqvarna 440 can save you significant time and effort when taking on tough cutting jobs, all while producing reliably high-quality cutting performance.
Designed for residential and light agricultural use, the 440 petrol chainsaw receives power from an impressively hardworking 40.9cc two-stroke petrol engine. Husqvarna’s clever technology is one of the reasons that this outstanding saw leaves its rivals standing when it comes to power and convenience, with an enhanced combustion process working to boost power, increase fuel efficiency by up to 20%, and reduce harmful exhaust emissions by up to 75%. In addition to this the inclusion of a new and improved Smart Start system, an easy-access primer bulb and a clever combined choke/stop control ensures that starting is always pleasingly hassle-free, while a transparent window in the 0.37 litre fuel tank and a flip-up cap makes refuelling equally straightforward.
With a 37.5cm (15”) bar and .325” pitch chain fitted as standard (can also be fitted with a 45cm/18” bar) this saw offers superb cutting power, quickly and efficiently chopping firewood as well as felling, snedding and bucking smaller trees with ease. To ensure consistently exceptional performance the 440 e-series also features a fixed flow oil pump for chain lubrication and a tool-free chain tensioner which allows you to tighten the chain with the bare minimum of fuss. The inclusion of an inertia-activated chain brake, moreover, provides valuable added protection in the event of dangerous kickback. This is also an impressively versatile machine, compatible with guide bars ranging from 33cm-46cm (13”-18”) depending on your requirements.
Part of what makes the 440 petrol chainsaw so user-friendly is its compact, lightweight design (only 4.4kg without bar and chain), which ensures outstanding accuracy of cut when taking on tricky pruning work or cutting wood down to size for repair or home improvement projects. Similarly convenient in this regard is the combination of an ergonomically designed rear handle and an effective LowVib anti-vibration system, which together work to ensure complete comfort and control during operation. One could at this point list the many and various handy features included to make your life a little simpler when using this outstanding chainsaw, ranging from the felling marks on the casing to a brilliant centrifugal air cleaning system which reduces engine wear for greater reliability, but suffice to say that Husqvarna’s clever engineers have gone far beyond the call of duty to make using the 440 petrol chainsaw an enjoyable and stress-free experience. Furthermore, with its hardwearing construction and tough three-piece forged crankshaft the 440 petrol chainsaw is also eminently capable of providing many years of reliable service, so should prove a steadfast companion for anyone in need of an effective way of tackling challenging cutting work in a residential or agricultural setting.

About HusqvarnaBelieve it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.
Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
