The Husqvarna Automower 420 is a well-equipped machine. Suitable for larger areas (up to 2200 square metres), the Automower can handle slopes up to a 45% incline. Imagine how much time and effort you could save; the mower automatically cuts the lawn, puts itself on charge, and can cope with even narrow passages. Husqvarna Automowers work by moving around in all directions. This seemingly random pattern of movement prevents ugly track marks from appearing in the lawn, and gives a smooth, carpet-like finish. The razor sharp carbon steel cutting blades cut the grass little and often, to give a perfectly groomed finish. The cutting system is not only effective, it is also very quiet. When your lawnmower is working all the time, it has to be.
The Husqvarna Automower 420 doesn’t come with an installation kit included, which allows you to select the most suitable one for your lawn, and purchase that when you order your new robotic mower. Then place your charging station (it should be on flat ground in the middle of the cutting area, with space around it, near a power outlet and out of reach of sprinklers). After you’ve done that, it’s just a case of charging the battery (somewhere between 80 and 100 minutes from empty), laying the guide wire, connecting everything up and sending your new little Automower off to work.
If you have some areas of longer grass (underneath garden furniture, for example), simply move your furniture out of the way and chose the spot cutting setting. The Automower will cut in tight spirals until the longer grass is trimmed back down to where it should be. At that point, the Automower 420 will return to automatic mode and continue to cut as usual. The settings panel is simple, and easy to use. Personalise your new mower to suit you, change height of cut, set your PIN, activate the anti-theft alarm and set the timer (not everyone wants their mower running 24-7, but if you do, you can).
The Husqvarna Automower 420 features a weather timer which is pretty ingenious. All by itself, your mower will adjust the working time to your lawn’s growth rate. By that we mean that your mower will cut more frequently when your grass is growing quickly, and in summer droughts, or when it’s too hot for the grass to grow, the mower will cut less often. This helps reduce wear on your grass, while simultaneously improving the life of your mower. As the Husqvarna Automower 420 is weather proof, it can run whenever you like. Husqvarna designed their mower to withstand the harsh climate in Scandinavian countries, so it’ll be able to handle a bit of British weather.
Husqvarna have designed their Automowers to be very energy efficient, and therefore it operates at a fraction of the cost of a conventional lawnmower. Your mower will typically run for 105 minutes on a single 55 minute charge, and there’s no petrol to buy or costly annual servicing to have to worry about.
