Product Description

Size, as they say, isn’t everything. But you won’t get very far trying to cut your lawn with a pair of nail scissors, and although Husqvarna’s garden tractors pack a lot into a compact package, they are certainly big and tough enough to make mowing larger lawns a simple matter. One of the most powerful premium lawn tractors produced by Husqvarna, the CTH 224T is ideal for making light work of even the largest lawns and tough enough to be used for maintaining verges, orchards, meadows and paddocks, but at the same time more manoeuvrable and agile than you’d expect of such a potent piece of machinery.

The key to this strength lies in the CTH 224T’s impressive 726cc Kawasaki FS Series V-Twin petrol engine, built to be industrious, fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. This vigorous engine combines with the mower’s hydrostatic drive system to provide outstanding control and unfaltering power, perfect for tackling larger or uneven areas of grass. Moreover, the speed control offered by the pedal operated hydrostatic transmission is complemented by the mower’s dual draglinks and Husqvarna’s U-Cut steering technology to make manoeuvring around borders and obstacles effortless, while a cruise control system helps ensure a steady speed when mowing on slopes and undulating lawns. For added safety, the CTH 224T even features a reverse operating system which disengages the cutting blade when reversing, as well as a failsafe driver presence switch which automatically cuts off power should you dismount while the engine is running.

Equally impressive is the CTH 224T’s tough 107cm cutting deck, featuring convenient electric blade engagement and a dual cutting system for dazzling versatility regardless of the cutting conditions at hand. This simple system utilises dashboard mounted controls for easy selection of one of two cutting modes. When used for traditional cut and collection the CTH 224T gathers clippings in a high capacity 320 litre grass collector, featuring electrically assisted clipping disposal for added efficiency.

However, the CTH 224T also features instant mulching functionality, allowing for quick and easy collection free mowing. As well as being more efficient on larger areas of lawn, as it eliminates the need to stop and dispose of clippings, mulching is proving increasingly popular with many gardeners as it helps to promote healthy lawn growth; with mulching, clippings are cut repeatedly and reduced to miniscule particles before being blown down into the base of your lawn to recycle valuable moisture and nutrients.

For even greater levels of precision and versatility, the CTH 224T also features centralised six-position height of cut adjustment (38mm-102mm), while integrated anti-scalp wheels and an innovative air induction system help to further ensure a pristine finish on any lawn. Moreover, like all of Husqvarna’s tractors the CTH 224T comes complete with a wide range of convenient extra features, including ergonomically designed seat and steering wheel, powerful headlights and a battery charge indicator.

The power and convenience of this impressive machine are underwritten by its fantastic build quality, with a tough steel chassis and a protective front-mounted brush guard helping to ensure many years of reliable service. For the biggest mowing questions, then, Husqvarna’s CTH 224T provides a forceful and emphatic answer (as well as, more importantly, efficient cutting performance and a clean and tidy lawn).

About Husqvarna
Believe it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.

Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
