Husqvarnas Functional Protective Trousers are for professional foresters and arborists. Made from tough but flexible materials, with hardwearing Cordura panels at the front for added protection and available in five sizes to ensure a perfect fit.
The name of Husqvarna’s ‘Functional’ range of protective clothing somewhat undersells the qualities of the high-specification protective gear lumbered with this modest title. These Functional Waist-Height Trousers, for instance, will obviously fulfil the basic trouser-function of covering your legs and nether regions, but also offer superb protection, comfort and convenience for hardworking forestry professionals working in hostile environments. As such, they are far more than just ‘Functional’.
In fact, given the importance of staying safe while using a chainsaw and the fact that these trousers are certified to offer Type A, Class 1 protection in compliance with the EN381-5 standard, you could even say that these trousers are essential for anyone engaged in prolonged periods of heavy duty cutting work. The Type A, Class 1 rating means that these trousers offer effective protection against chain speeds of up to 20m/s across the front and partially to the left side of the leg, with tough Cordura panels ensuring even greater durability. Despite this toughness the fabric used to make these trousers remains lightweight and flexible, which in conjunction with the inclusion of ventilation zippers at the back of the legs offers exceptional year-round comfort.
Another handy safety enhancing feature of Husqvarna’s Functional Waist-Height Trousers are the reflective ‘Husqvarna’ logo and leg bands, which significantly improve visibility in low light. The inclusion of three zip-up pockets, meanwhile, ensures that you will always have somewhere to securely stow any loose ephemera you need for your working day. Husqvarna’s Functional Waist-Height Trousers are therefore almost as practical for their convenience as they are for the protection they provide, with five sizes available (ranging from 30”-46”) to ensure a perfect fit.

About HusqvarnaBelieve it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.
Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
