Perfect for all commercial grass cutting applications, Husqvarna’s 500 series front rider mowers are among the most effective and adaptable ride-on lawnmowers around. Like all of Husqvarna’s front riders, the 500 series machines feature a handy front mounted cutting deck to help when mowing hard to reach areas of lawn and a wide range of impressive features designed to make mowing efficient and stress free. The entry level model in the 500 series, the P 524 is designed to be powerful and tough while remaining compact, easy to transport and exceptionally manoeuvrable.
Driven by an efficient and smooth running 726cc Kawasaki FX Series V-Twin petrol engine, featuring an overhead valve design for optimum performance and a longer service life, the P 524 comes as standard with powerful hydrostatic all-wheel drive transmission. This not only provides smooth speed adjustment up to 13km/h, but also ensures that the P 524 has the traction required for effective mowing on slopes, verges and soft or slippery ground. With its compact design and unique hydraulically assisted articulated steering system, the P 524 is also very easy to handle, even in the most complicated areas of lawn.
The P 524 can be fitted with one of two cutting decks (available at an extra cost), one with a cutting width of 112cm and a 122cm model suitable for even the largest lawns. As with all of Husqvarna’s combi decks, these decks feature two distinct cutting modes: BioClip® grass mulching and efficient rear discharge. Mulched grass clippings are cut repeatedly until reduced to miniscule particles before being ejected back onto the lawn where they break down and release valuable nutrients and moisture, proving a tidy finish and encouraging healthy lawn growth. For longer, rougher areas of grass, meanwhile, simply removing the cutting deck’s back plate activates a handy rear ejection mode.
Both cutting modes also benefit from the convenience provided by an electronic blade clutch, making it quick and easy to engage and disengage the cutting blades, while anti-scalping wheels on the deck help to protect your lawn as you mow. Moreover, with seven step height of cut adjustment (25mm-75mm) controlled via an easily accessed lever system, achieving a precise finish is an exceedingly simple matter.
To help ensure your comfort, safety and convenience during extended periods of use, Husqvarna have included a number of practical features. The driver’s seat, for example, is cushioned to ensure a smooth ride and powerful halogen headlights enable safe operation in low light conditions. Easy access service points, meanwhile, make routine cleaning and maintenance much easier and extra equipment can be stowed safely in the cargo holder. Finally, to ensure that the P 524 is more than tough enough to provide many years of reliable service it has been built with a durable, reinforced steel frame, a powder coated steel cutting deck and a cast iron rear module.

About HusqvarnaBelieve it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.
Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
