Simply the most powerful front rider mower manufactured by Husqvarna and the leading model available in the commercial grade 500 series, the P 525D is versatile, convenient and agile as well as being tough, efficient and muscular. That is, admittedly, quite a lot of adjectives to heap upon one machine, but the P 525D more than warrants such long-winded praise. If I were, however, to try and sum up this extraordinary mower in one word, it would have to be “outstanding”.
Take, for instance, the P 525D’s powerful 1123cc Kubota D1105 diesel engine; a market leader in its class, this tough engine utilises an innovative E-TVCS combustion system to produce reliable, smooth running power with dramatically reduced emissions. This fuel efficient system drives the mower’s equally impressive hydrostatic, all-wheel drive transmission for a top speed of 18.5km/h and masterful traction when mowing on sloped surfaces or working with slippery or soft ground conditions. Moreover, thanks to the mower’s compact, articulated design the P 525D is fantastically manoeuvrable, and with hydraulically assisted power steering it is also remarkably easy to handle.
The P 525D’s combi cutting deck is driven by a hardened power take off shaft and available with either a 132cm or 155cm width of cut, perfect for maintaining the larger lawns of country estates, sporting facilities and parks. As well as being more than capable of providing efficient performance on even the very largest lawns, the compact design and front mounted deck on the P 525D means that it is also surprisingly handy when working in smaller or more complicated areas. Precision and ease of use, meanwhile, are further enhanced by the inclusion of seven step height of cut adjustment (25mm-127mm), user-friendly electronic blade engagement and an offset deck to make it easier to mow around edges and borders.
Husqvarna’s combi decks (available at an additional cost) also offer marvellous versatility, featuring as they do both BioClip® grass mulching and efficient rear discharge cutting modes. Mulching involves cutting and re-cutting grass until only tiny particles remain, which are then ejected back onto the lawn to recycle valuable nutrients and moisture. This has made mulching an increasingly popular option among many professional gardeners and landscapers, as it not only leaves a tidy finish but also fertilises lawns naturally as they are mown. For areas with longer, rougher grass, however, the P 525D’s rear discharge mode is an efficient cutting solution, easily activated by simply removing the cutting deck’s rear panel.
Moreover, for even greater versatility and year round performance the P 525D can also be augmented with a variety of optional accessories. With the addition of the cabin kit, for example, you gain extra protection against the elements in all seasons, while a wide range of front mounted and towed equipment (including snow blades, flail mowers, a tough utility bucket, and drop and throw spreaders) mean that this powerful mower has the potential to perform in an incredible range of situations.
A tough chassis and ROPS (Roll Over Protection Structure) framework alongside the P 525D’s powder coated cutting deck and easy access service points to help ensure your mower is easy to maintain and offers a reassuringly long service life. And with a cushioned driver’s seat, featuring full suspension to ensure your comfort, and a helpful LED display panel, the P 525D is also easy to use for extended periods of time. To return to my earlier point, the P 525D is a truly outstanding example of what a professional ride-on lawnmower can be.

About HusqvarnaBelieve it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.
Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
