Product Description

Please note: delivery is only available within a 50 mile radius of our Ipswich and Norwich depots for all ride on lawnmowers.

The engineers at Husqvarna are clever types. For example, they figured out that by making a ride-on lawnmower with a car-style engine hood utilising sound absorbing materials it would be possible to increase the engine RPM without accidentally deafening the operator. This improves the efficiency and power of the mower, increasing ground and blade speed with no extra noise or emissions. It is precisely this kind of clever design which makes the R 215TX stand out as a ride-on mower of some distinction; powerful enough for achieving great results on medium to large lawns, but also quiet running, comfortable and convenient in a manner with which few similar mowers can compete.

The low-noise, X-tra Efficiency system used in the design of the R 215TX has allowed Husqvarna to fit this mower with an impressive 603cc Briggs & Stratton Intek V-Twin petrol engine, featuring Magnetron® electronic ignition for quick and dependable starting and a Dura-Bore cast iron cylinder sleeve for an extended service life. To complement the power provided by this industrious engine, the R 215TX also features fully hydrostatic transmission (allowing for infinitely variable speed adjustment up to 9.5km/h), a pivoting rear axle and a unique articulated steering system to help ensure excellent maneouvrability.

Two cutting decks are available at an extra charge for the R 215TX: one with a 94cm width of cut, and a slightly larger 103cm model. Both decks are constructed from sturdy stamped steel and benefit from a front mounted design which allows you to mow in hard to reach parts of your garden, such as in tight corners and under bushes. Moreover, ten-position height of cut adjustment (25mm-75mm) controlled via an easily accessible single lever system provides valuable added versatility and precision.

Husqvarna’s combi decks also provide two distinctive cutting modes: BioClip® grass mulching and efficient rear ejection. Mulching is an increasingly popular option among many gardeners, as it uses clippings as a natural fertiliser to help promote healthy lawn growth. To do this, grass is cut repeatedly until reduced to tiny particles. These miniscule clippings are then discharged back onto the lawn, recycling vital moisture and nutrients as they break down. To activate the rear discharge mode when cutting longer grass, however, all that is required is to remove the back plate from the cutting deck, making it simple to tackle larger, overgrown lawns quickly and efficiently.

With a tough build, easy access service points to make cleaning and maintenance quicker, and convenient automatic cutting blade engagement also included as standard, the R 215TX is a rare example of a mower which strikes a fabulous balance between power, toughness and ease of use, making it ideal for anyone looking for a versatile ride-on mower capable of delivering a level of performance belied by its compact size.

About Husqvarna
Believe it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.

Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
