For maintaining a pleasingly tidy finish in medium to large gardens featuring undulating lawns, it is important that your ride-on mower is powerful enough to handle the work demanded of it. With Husqvarna’s R 216 AWD, however, you can rest easy; featuring the same compact design and maneouvrability of the smaller mowers in Husqvarna’s 200 series, but with a larger engine and the traction and control delivered by four wheel drive transmission, the R 216 AWD is perfect for anyone looking for an efficient and agile machine capable of taking on bigger, tougher jobs on uneven ground.
Key to what makes the R 216 AWD stand out from similar machines is its efficient 500cc Briggs & Stratton Intek petrol engine, featuring an anti-vibration system and a Dura-Bore™ cast iron cylinder sleeve for an extended service life. This industrious engine works in conjunction with the all-wheel drive transmission to help to make sure that you always have the control and power you need to achieve great results, even when mowing on verges, slopes or softer ground. Moreover, with the fine tuned speed adjustment provided by the hydrostatic transmission, along with the mower’s pivoting rear axle and articulated steering, the R 216 AWD is also easy to handle when mowing around borders, edges and obstacles.
The R 216 AWD can also be customised to suit your needs, with two cutting decks available at an extra cost: one with a 94cm width of cut, and a slightly larger 103cm model. As with all of Husqvarna’s combi decks, both feature a tough steel build, convenient automatic blade engagement and two distinctive cutting modes: BioClip® grass mulching and efficient rear ejection. When used for mulching, the R 216 AWD reduces cuttings to fine particles before ejecting them back down to the base of your lawn where they serve as a natural fertiliser. When cutting areas of longer grass, however, removing the cutting deck’s back plate activates the efficient rear ejection mode, ensuring the versatility required to handle a variety of grass conditions. For added precision and versatility, an easily accessible lever provides ten-position height of cut adjustment between 25mm and 75mm.
The R 216 AWD also benefits from the high quality build and design you would expect from a Husqvarna machine. The heavy duty reinforced steel and powder coated frame, for example, ensure great durability and a long service life, while easy access service points make cleaning and maintaining your mower much simpler. Moreover, the R 216 AWD also features wide wheels to improve stability and protect your lawn, and the comfortable driver’s seat is perfectly positioned to ensure a smooth ride and unrestricted visibility. With such convenience perfectly complementing the power and maneouvrability of this impressive machine, you’ll likely wonder quite how you ever got by without one.

About HusqvarnaBelieve it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.
Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
