Product Description

A garden can be many things to many people; a place to relax, a horticultural project, a place to grow fruit and vegetables, and even a safe haven. However, a large garden can also be a lot of work, and maintaining a suitably pristine lawn can be particularly time consuming. Thankfully, these days we can rely upon the help of machinery as impressive as the R 316T; a tough but agile rider mower designed by Husqvarna.

Perfect for use in larger gardens, the R 316T is available with a combi cutting deck in one of three sizes (94cm, 103cm or 112cm), all of which offer two distinctive cutting modes: BioClip® grass mulching and efficient rear ejection. Mulched grass clippings are cut repeatedly until reduced to miniscule particles which are then blown deep into the lawn to recycle vital nutrients and moisture; this not only leaves a tidy surface finish, but also helps ensure that your lawn grows thick and healthy. For cutting longer, rougher grass, meanwhile, removing the cutting deck’s back panel activates an efficient rear discharge mode.

The attention to detail lavished upon the R 316T’s cutting system extends even further though, with nine step height of cut adjustment and cutting blades which engage automatically when you lower the deck included for added precision and convenience. By positioning the deck at the front of the mower Husqvarna have also made it possible to reach otherwise inaccessible areas of lawn, which is useful when mowing in tight corners and under bushes. To protect your lawn and guard against scalping the R 316T’s cutting deck is designed to float just above the lawn’s surface, while pivoting support wheels help prevent any accidental damage. Moreover, thanks to the specially designed attachment frame it is easy to switch between the mower’s cutting deck and a wide range of front mounted accessories, including a powered broom and a flail mower (available separately).

Power is provided by the R 316T’s efficient 603cc Kawasaki FS Series V-Twin petrol engine, which with the mower’s hydrostatic transmission system offers a top forward speed of 9.0km/h. The fine speed adjustment this provides, along with the mower’s heavy duty pivoting rear axle and Husqvarna’s articulated steering system, also helps to make the R 316T impressively manoeuvrable, even in more complicated areas of lawn.

Built to the high standards typical of Husqvarna machinery, the R 316T is also very tough, with a reinforced steel frame and easy access maintenance points to help ensure a long service life. The 316T’s design displays a similarly remarkable commitment to convenience, featuring as it does a digital service indicator, powerful halogen headlights and even a 12V socket outlet for powering electrical accessories. As such, the R 316T falls into a fairly narrow category of machines equally capable of taming an overgrown lawn and charging an iPad, so once you’re done with mowing you can just sit back and watch a movie if you like (while perhaps also utilising the handy storage space and bottle holder to stow vital refreshments).

About Husqvarna
Believe it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.

Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
