Husqvarna’s stylish and hardworking front rider 400 series mowers are designed specifically for the maintenance of larger areas of grass, making them suitable for use in a wide variety of locations, including (but not limited to) large residential lawns, country estates, farms, sports facilities and even in the grounds of hotels and hospitals; to put it a little more briefly, anywhere that there’s a lot of grass which needs mowing.
The lighter and more compact of the two 400 series machines, the R 418Ts AWD is thus also the more agile of the two, making it far more effective when mowing complicated lawns. Powered by a potent 603cc Kawasaki FS Series V-Twin petrol engine, the R 418Ts AWD’s hydrostatic all-wheel drive transmission means that it is also equally effective when mowing on slopes, verges or slippery ground. Moreover, with articulated power steering and a pivoting rear axle, the R 418Ts AWD is also remarkably easy to handle.
Depending on your requirements, the R 418Ts AWD can be fitted with a 94cm, 103cm or 112cm combi cutting deck. The forward positioning of this deck makes it easy to access hard to reach areas of lawn, and to help protect your lawn its floating design and pivoting support wheels also work to prevent scalping and surface damage. The combi decks available for this mower all feature two distinctive cutting options: BioClip® grass mulching and efficient rear discharge. Mulching involves cutting grass repeatedly before ejecting the miniscule clippings back down into the base of your lawn, where they break down and release valuable nutrients and moisture to leave your lawn with a tidy finish and encourage healthy growth. Alternatively, by removing the cutting deck’s back panel you can activate a handy rear discharge mode, making it easy to cut large areas of overgrown grass.
Both cutting modes also benefit from the precision supplied by seven step height of cut adjustment (25mm-75mm), controlled via an easily accessible lever system, while automatic blade engagement offers valuable ease of use. For added versatility, the R 418Ts AWD also features an attachment frame to make it quick and easy to switch between the cutting deck and a wide range of optional front mounted Husqvarna accessories, including flail mower, snow thrower and folding plough.
As with all of Husqvarna’s tough front rider mowers, the R 418Ts AWD is built with a reinforced steel frame to help ensure a longer service life, as well as easy access service points to enable routine cleaning and maintenance. This should ensure many years of reliable service, and with other features including powerful halogen headlights, large wheels for a smoother ride and an ergonomically designed adjustable steering wheel the R 418Ts AWD can boast comfort and convenience to match its impressive power, manoeuvrability and toughness.

About HusqvarnaBelieve it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.
Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
