Out of stock
With its durable 53cm steel cutting deck and powerful 160cc Honda engine, the front wheel drive Husqvarna R53SV is ideal for medium to large gardens. This mower features a TrioClip cutting system, allowing it to switch between three cutting options: cut and collection, mulching, and side discharge. This means you can mow over a variety of ground conditions, such as when moving from a formal garden to a meadow, with only minor adjustment, and can choose the grass disposal method best suited to your needs.
For the cut and collection option, the R53SV is equipped with a large 71 litre capacity fabric grass collector, its size meaning that you won’t have to stop and empty it too often, saving you time and energy. The side discharge mode, meanwhile, is useful when the grass is longer and more difficult to cut, as it prevents the clippings from clogging up the system by discharging them back onto the ground for later collection. Finally, the mulching option is an environmentally-friendly function which recycles grass clippings as a natural fertilizer; the grass is cut and re-cut by the mulching blade then redistributed onto the ground where it decomposes, encouraging the growth of a healthy green lawn.
Propulsion is provided by the machine’s powerful and efficient 163cc Honda GCV160 engine, offering extreme reliability and easy starting, along with a maximum speed of 4.2km/h. The Autowalk variable-speed drive control, located on the handlebar, adjusts the ground speed as conditions vary whilst you are mowing. These controls are easy to access, and the comfortable grip handlebar can be adjusted to two different positions in order to suit your height. The height of cut is also highly adjustable, with three levers used to set the mower to one of six different positions between 30mm and 80mm. The large 30.5cm diameter rear wheels, meanwhile, have double ball bearings for smoother movement on rougher terrain, plus excellent durability and longevity. Finally, when you are done mowing, the double folding handles make for compact storage and easy transportation.
About HusqvarnaBelieve it or not, Husqvarna did not start off by manufacturing any type of garden machinery at all. Instead they were established in 1689 as a weapons foundry supplying the Swedish Armed Forces. During the subsequent years, diverse and varied products have been produced, from sewing machines and cast iron kitchen equipment through to bicycles and motorbikes. It wasn't until 1959 that Husqvarna finally made its first chainsaws and engine-driven lawnmowers. The company's reputation for build quality and durability of product has never been in question. This is probably the reason for their line of professional petrol chainsaws being so popular with forestry workers across the globe.
Husqvarna are not afraid to innovate either, introducing the robotic, solar powered Automower® in 1995 and continually looking to improve their existing products by listening to their customers. Jumping onto the grass recycling bandwagon, they also manufacture some of the best mulching lawnmowers available, incorporating Bioclip® technology into the vast majority of their petrol lawn mowers. Be left in no doubt, if you buy any product from the Husqvarna garden machinery stable, you will be buying into Swedish quality that is built to last.
