Product Description

In his 1605 book The Advancement of Learning, Francis Bacon, noted philosopher and progenitor of the modern scientific method, wrote that “cleanness of body was ever deemed to proceed from a due reverence to God.” This is thought to be the origin of the phrase “cleanliness is next to Godliness” in the English language, foreshadowing centuries of mums threatening kids with damnation whenever they refused to have a bath. However, if we accept that cleanliness is indeed next to Godliness then Kawasaki’s KRB650B must be pretty much divine, as there are few better backpack blowers available on the market when it comes to maintaining a lawn clear of unsightly debris and thus a neat, clean and tidy garden.

Designed for professional use and backpack mounted for greater manoeuvrability, the KRB650B is also reassuringly easy to use and ideal for work on uneven ground or in otherwise hard to access areas. Even if manoeuvrability isn’t a priority, the KRB650B’s padded harness distributes the weight of the machine evenly and means that it can easily be used for prolonged periods in complete comfort, which along with the increased run time provided by the high capacity 2.0 litre fuel tank makes this outstanding blower just the thing for tackling heavier workloads in larger gardens.

The power for all of this is supplied via a clean running yet magnificently potent 45.4cc two-stroke petrol engine, which has been designed by Kawasaki to be reliably high performing and to offer an optimum power to weight ratio. This means that this outstanding machine is capable of delivering an airflow of up to 17.4m3/min at 306km/h, offering enough pushing power to quickly clear twigs, loose leaves and other garden-based detritus. To help reduce noise emissions, moreover, the KRB650B is also fitted with a plastic engine shroud and fan casing, as well as a muffler with a glass wool lining, so despite being a very powerful machine it can also be used in built up residential areas without causing too much of a disturbance. Kawasaki’s clever KAR (Kawasaki Advanced Recoil) easy start system, meanwhile, reduces starter cord resistance to ensure hassle-free starting every time.

Additional ergonomic features include a flexible blowing tube which allows you to direct the airflow which much greater accuracy, a sturdy carry handle to facilitate transportation, and an easy access all-in-one joystick control system. Mounted on the blowing tube, this joystick incorporates an easy to use throttle trigger, a fully adjustable throttle lock which prevents operator fatigue by keeping the throttle automatically engaged, and a handy engine on/off switch to make it quick an easy to activate/deactivate the blower as required.

As you’d expect of any Kawasaki machine, the KRB650B is also pleasingly tough and happily capable of withstanding the daily rigors of professional use. Built with only the highest quality components, this piece of kit is therefore capable of providing many years of dedicated service with satisfying results. To underline this fact, Kawasaki even offers either a three year professional warranty or a five year domestic warranty as standard, along with a lifetime guarantee on the electronic ignition module, so you can be sure that this impressively potent blower will prove a faithful companion for years to come when faced with tough clearance work.

About Kawasaki
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd is truly a manufacturing Behemoth, a Leviathan of industry, a commercial Titan with which few can compare, a… well, you get the idea. They’re pretty big. In addition to high quality powered horticultural tools, Kawasaki’s product lines include the following (take a deep breath now); space systems, flight simulators, jet engines, missiles, rolling stock, oil tankers, submarines, wind turbines, nuclear power plant equipment, industrial plants, robots, water treatment systems, motorcycles, cars, construction machinery, steel bridges and jet skis.

However, it is worth noting that few companies become a globe-straddling, Brobdingnagian enterprise of this kind without sharing Kawasaki’s dedication to innovation, customer service and brilliant engineering. It is this longstanding tradition of producing clever, effective and efficient machinery which has led professional gardeners and landscapers across the world to select Kawasaki machines as their tools of choice when faced with heavy duty horticultural work.

Kawasaki’s current manufacturing empire has relatively humble roots in the form of a man named Shz Kawasaki. The son of a kimono merchant, Shz Kawasaki was born in 1837 and became a tradesman at the age of 17 in Nagasaki. He later started a shipping business in Osaka at 27, but it failed when his cargo ship sank during a storm. Despite this seeming setback, it was in fact Shz Kawasaki’s unfortunate familiarity with sea accidents (of which he experienced many during his life) that lay down the foundations for the Kawasaki company’s later success. This is because Kawasaki came to admire Western ships during his life at sea, which were typically more spacious, stable and faster than Japanese ships, and when Kawasaki established the Kawasaki Tsukiji Shipyard in Tokyo in 1878 he pioneered in the introduction of modern shipbuilding techniques in Japan.

Eighteen years later, in 1896, the Kawasaki Tsukiji Shipyard was incorporated as Kawasaki Dockyard Co., Ltd and the company has been growing and blazing all kinds of trails ever since. Given Kawasaki’s expertise in creating powerful, environmentally friendly and efficient engines it made perfect sense for the company to introduce its own range of power tools, including a variety of commercial grade blowers, brushcutters and hedgetrimmers. These tools all benefit from Kawasaki’s characteristic commitment to quality, durability and long-lasting performance, making them perfect for busy professionals who need machines capable of tackling heavy workloads while producing superior results.
