According to Shindaiwa’s promotional literature, the 305S is an “all-round saw” which is “perfect for a variety of tasks”. It’s fair to say that most of these various tasks probably involve chopping stuff though, because chopping stuff is what the 305S does best. The lightest chainsaw in Shindaiwa’s range, the 305S is impressively compact and easy to use and therefore ideal for home users looking for a machine with which to chop logs and prune tough tree branches.

With the main unit weighing only 4.0kg, the 305S is magnificently portable, and with a sturdy rear handle providing easy access to the throttle, as well as a lightweight aluminium alloy front handle offering pleasing control, this excellent little chainsaw also handles brilliantly. A range of additional ergonomic features further ensure outstanding user convenience, including a Soft Start system and one-piece CDI ignition, which together help to ensure quick, effortless starting every time. All of this helps to make the 305S terrifically user-friendly, thus taking a lot of the stress out of tough cutting work.

Tough cutting work, after all, is what the 305S was made for, with a powerful 30.5cc two-stroke petrol engine driving the precision engineered 30cm (12”) guide bar and 3/8” pitch saw chain for consistently exceptional cutting results. High performance levels are further ensured by Shindaiwa’s aero-mechanically engineered saw dust control system, so even the most challenging residential cutting work shouldn’t pose a problem for the 305S. As such, whether you are pruning tree branches, chopping logs or even cutting down smaller trees, the 305S has enough clout to get the job done with satisfyingly little fuss.

As you’d expect from a Shindaiwa machine the 305S is also reassuringly tough, with every Shindaiwa manufactured component inspected and rigorously tested to ensure reliability. Thus, with a die-cast crankcase, a chrome-plated cylinder, a forged crankshaft and connecting rod, and a woodruff keyed flywheel all providing remarkable durability and long lasting performance, the 305S is more than capable of offering years of dependable performance. This steadfastness is further underlined by Shindaiwa’s offer of either a five year domestic warranty or a two year commercial warranty as standard with every machine, so you can rest completely assured of a long service life and great results time after time.

About Shindaiwa
In 1955 the ‘Shindaiwa Hurricane' hit the marketplace, an electric chainsaw that proved to be an instant success with the construction industry. Since this time numerous design awards have been bestowed upon the legendary Japanese manufacturer, including the ‘Good Design Award' in 1985. In fact, Shindaiwa claim to have invented the hand-held leaf blower market in that same year and have continued to produce some of the most respected professional outdoor power equipment in the world. Painstaking research is at the centre of all Shindaiwa products that are developed and tested by skilled engineers before being manufactured using the highest quality components available.

It is this attention to detail that gives the company the confidence to offer a 2-year commercial use guarantee on all of its products, happy in the knowledge that it will be a rare occasion when a Shindaiwa tool lets you down. In 2002 their first 4-cycle product, the T2500 petrol brush cutter, was developed and paved the way for the cleaner running and more environmentally friendly range of power tools of the future. There is no doubting that as customers' needs have changed, the Shindaiwa product line has moved with them.
