Product Description

In the American rapper Skee-Lo’s 1995 hit ‘I Wish’, said rhymester wishes for many things, including “a rabbit in a hat with a bat” for some reason. However, one prevailing preoccupation is height (e.g., “I wish I was little bit taller,” “I wish I was like six-foot-nine”), which leads us to believe that Mr. Lo may have appreciated the little extra boost that Shindaiwa’s AH 2510 long-reach hedgetrimmer can give you when trimming, cutting and shaping tall hedgerows, bushes and shrubs.

The AH 2510 stands out most for its professional grade 24.5cc two-stroke petrol engine, built with Shindaiwa’s innovative C4® technology to improve performance. This C4® systemcombines the high power-to-weight ratio, torque and great throttle response of a two-stroke engine with the reduced noise, low emissions and improved fuel economy of a four-stroke engine, thereby boosting cutting power while making the AH 2510 quieter and cleaner running in the process. Moreover, these C4® engines use between 10% and 25% less fuel than their two-stroke equivalents, so even the AH 2510’s running costs are reduced.

This powerful engine drives the AH 2510’s cutting system, which is composed of a potent 55cm reciprocating double-blade mounted on a sturdy shaft for an overall working length of 236cm. This is accompanied by an easy-to-use angle adjustment system, providing up to 150° of articulation and ten locking positions for maximum versatility. The AH 2510’s elongated shaft and cutting angle articulation make it possible to trim tucked away areas of tricky hedgerows and tall shrubs, which would be impossible with many other machines. Even better is that whether trimming high or low this can be done from a safe standing position (thus eliminating the need to bend down or climb rickety ladders).

For added convenience, the AH 2510 also features a high capacity 0.6 litre fuel tank with an extra wide opening to prevent spillages when refuelling. The increased runtime and ease of servicing this provides helps to save significant time and effort as you work, particularly when taking on heavier workloads. Other user-friendly features include an easy-access, all-in-one control system and a protective hand guard on the shaft handle, which makes using the AH 2510 reassuringly safe and hassle-free. Furthermore, this convenience is complemented by the AH 2510’s lightweight, well-balanced design, which provides the manoeuvrability and control required for accurate cutting.

Don’t just take our word for it though. In a review for Horticulture Week Shindaiwa’s AH 2510 is described as “a quiet but powerful unit, highly manoeuvrable, capable of adjusting to every position you will ever need and extremely well balanced” and as “a hedge trimmer we didn’t want to put down”. In the same review, AlscotPark gardener David Williams says that the AH 2510’s “range of motion is terrific” and that “it feels really lightweight because the balance is so perfect.” And if this still hasn’t convinced you of the AH 2510’s brilliance, Shindaiwa also offers a two year professional or five year domestic warranty with every machine; so with this machine you can rest completely assured of reliable cutting power for years to come.

About Shindaiwa
In 1955 the ‘Shindaiwa Hurricane' hit the marketplace, an electric chainsaw that proved to be an instant success with the construction industry. Since this time numerous design awards have been bestowed upon the legendary Japanese manufacturer, including the ‘Good Design Award' in 1985. In fact, Shindaiwa claim to have invented the hand-held leaf blower market in that same year and have continued to produce some of the most respected professional outdoor power equipment in the world. Painstaking research is at the centre of all Shindaiwa products that are developed and tested by skilled engineers before being manufactured using the highest quality components available.

It is this attention to detail that gives the company the confidence to offer a 2-year commercial use guarantee on all of its products, happy in the knowledge that it will be a rare occasion when a Shindaiwa tool lets you down. In 2002 their first 4-cycle product, the T2500 petrol brush cutter, was developed and paved the way for the cleaner running and more environmentally friendly range of power tools of the future. There is no doubting that as customers' needs have changed, the Shindaiwa product line has moved with them.
