There are many things for which Shindaiwa’s EB221S handheld leaf blower is simply too powerful. Should you attempt to use the EB221S to blow out the candles on a birthday cake, for instance, you will likely just end up with a big cake-y mess on a nearby wall for your troubles. Should you take the more sensible approach of using the EB221S for clearing leaves and other light debris from the surface of your lawn, however, you’ll find that its superb power and control makes even challenging tidying work satisfyingly simple.

This is because the EB221S is powered by a compact yet hardworking 21.1cc two-stroke petrol engine, delivering up to 0.62kW of pushing power via an efficient impeller fan. Fitted with a high capacity 0.6 litre fuel tank to save time and effort otherwise spent on refuelling, the EB221S will even serve well on larger properties during the autumn when sheer quantity of foliage can leave lesser blowers struggling. And with capacitor discharge ignition and Shindaiwa’s clever Soft Start system included to reduce the resistance of the recoil starter cord, the EB221S is quick-starting so that you can set to work without delay.

Equally important to the EB221S’s practicality is the fact it comes with two blower tubes as standard; one with a round nozzle and one with a flat nozzle. The round blower tube allows the EB221S to achieve a greater airflow – up to 600m3/h at a speed of 64m/s – to enable large amounts of leaves. The flatter nozzle, on the other hand, boosts the air speed of the flow produced – up to a maximum of 474m3/h at 73m/s – and comes in most handy when a little extra kick is required, such as when clearing wet leaves from driveways and patios. There are thus few situations in which the EB221S won’t be capable of gathering leaves and other debris into a neat pile, allowing for efficient disposal once you are done.

On top of all of this Shindaiwa has also created the EB221S to be exceptionally reliable and user-friendly, thereby ensuring that even demanding clearance jobs don’t become unnecessarily arduous. The EB221S’s ergonomically designed top handle and cruise control-enabled throttle, for instance, significantly reduce user fatigue during prolonged periods of operation, with a low overall weight of only 3.4kg offering outstanding manoeuvrability. To make sure that the EB221S continues to perform over time, meanwhile, it also features a heavy duty air filter and comes with either a five year domestic warranty or a two year commercial warranty as standard. Shindaiwa’s EB221S is thus a great choice for private users seeking a petrol leaf blower for use on either commercial or residential properties.

About Shindaiwa
In 1955 the ‘Shindaiwa Hurricane' hit the marketplace, an electric chainsaw that proved to be an instant success with the construction industry. Since this time numerous design awards have been bestowed upon the legendary Japanese manufacturer, including the ‘Good Design Award' in 1985. In fact, Shindaiwa claim to have invented the hand-held leaf blower market in that same year and have continued to produce some of the most respected professional outdoor power equipment in the world. Painstaking research is at the centre of all Shindaiwa products that are developed and tested by skilled engineers before being manufactured using the highest quality components available.

It is this attention to detail that gives the company the confidence to offer a 2-year commercial use guarantee on all of its products, happy in the knowledge that it will be a rare occasion when a Shindaiwa tool lets you down. In 2002 their first 4-cycle product, the T2500 petrol brush cutter, was developed and paved the way for the cleaner running and more environmentally friendly range of power tools of the future. There is no doubting that as customers' needs have changed, the Shindaiwa product line has moved with them.
