SnowEx SP-85 Pedestrian Salt Spreader

  • Product Details

the situation at hand; for a heavier flow simply increase the gate opening and advance slowly, or walk faster to achieve a wider spread. The inclusion of sidewalk deflectors means that you can also limit the flow in any direction as required. This is most useful in situations when a concentrated flow is needed or when attempting to prevent distribution in unwanted areas, such as in flowerbeds alongside concreted areas. A ten gauge wire screen, meanwhile, prevents larger chunks of grit from entering the hopper, working in conjunction with the protective top cover to ensure that spreading media stays dry and ready for distribution.

With the tough polyethylene hopper, a powder coated steel frame, a reliable 25.4cm moulded plastic spinner and a sealed gearbox, the SP-85 is also a tough little unit more than capable of withstanding the rigours of commercial use throughout the winter. This robustness of construction is perfectly complemented by the SP-85’s low weight (only 19.1kg), ergonomic handles and large pneumatic tires, all of which ensure remarkable ease of use and excellent manoeuvrability over snow, slush and ice. SnowEx’s tough little broadcast spreader is therefore perfect for all commercial salt and grit spreading tasks in small to medium sized areas, making it easy to clear ice and snow from hard surfaces with the bare minimum of effort.

    About SnowEx
A recognised brand for anyone involved in the snow and ice clearance industry, SnowEx have won a hard earned reputation for being one of the foremost manufacturers of vehicle mounted snow removal solutions. Their roots were not originally involved in the manufacturing industry however; they were a small snow removal company established in 1977 and were continually frustrated with the inferior equipment that manufacturers of the time were producing. Instead of taking the put-up-and-shut-up approach, SnowEx decided to modify these inferior products to suit their needs.

Not content with modification, they eventually manufactured their first product in 1993, a low profile salt spreader with a poly-constructed hopper - the first of its kind. To follow was another first - a swing-away mount for tailgate operated salt and ice-melt spreaders. The following years have seen continual development and manufacturing of new products from the company headquarters in Oaklands, Michigan. With a vision to be leaders in the industry, SnowEx show no signs of slowing down with innovations such as the Patented Auger Transmission System and Salt-Traxx Digital Job Tracker keeping them ahead of the competition in snow and ice management products.
