Stiga have excelled themselves with this 24v battery operated chainsaw. With a 10″/25cm Oregon Bar it can cut up to 36 cuts through an impressive 14cm of logs on one charge, and it has a built-up grip and safety shield to make it safe for even novice operators to use. This is a lightweight machine at only 2.2kg, but it still provides the power to get the job done – its 4.0Ah power pack means that it can keep up with larger electric models, and as it’s cordless there’s no need to worry about accidentally getting tangled up or cutting something important.
Stiga make an excellent easy-to-use chainsaw, with none of the problems associated with older petrol models like refilling the tank, mixing oils, dealing with fumes or starting with a pull cord. Instead, it’s started by a single button and a drive trigger, and an automatic oil pump and quick chain tensioning system make it easier still to use. Whether bought on its own or as part of a range, this chainsaw is simple, reliable, tough and easy to use – everything you need to maintain a city or suburban-sized garden or to get small cutting jobs done.
