The Toro HoverPro 550 is a powerful petrol-powered hover mower which would be ideal for a medium or large garden, or for semi-professional use. This machine offers the mobility of a petrol mower combined with the lightness and manoeuvrability of a hover mower, allowing the machine to be used by any operator, whatever their strength or experience of mowing, and also to reach outlying lawn areas that would be beyond the reach of anyone operating a traditional electric hover mower.
The mower’s cushion of air and lack of wheels mean, as its name suggests, that it glides over rough ground, allowing it to tackle slopes or other uneven surfaces that would be beyond the reach of a wheeled machine. The HoverPro 550 will handle slopes of up to 45°, which would even be beyond the reach of a less advanced hover mower. The risk of the 550 dropping over the grass edge is also minimised, reducing the chances of turf damage and allowing the operator to mow easily around the edges of flowerbeds and golf course bunkers.
This model is ideal for a medium or large garden, as the generous cutting width of 53 cm allows the operator to handle a large area as quickly and easily as possible. The HoverPro 550 also features a sturdy metal bar blade instead of the cheaper, flimsier nylon line cutting system; it is therefore both less likely to break and offers a high quality finish. The cutting height can also be adjusted to between 16 and 34mm.
The powerful 160cc Honda OHC engine has been designed to perform with maximum efficiency when working on even the toughest inclines; the high power-to-weight ratio ensures lightness and the fuel pump ensures smooth and constant fuel delivery even on the steepest surfaces (45°). To add to the utility of this machine, Toro also offer optional kits, including Transport Wheels to make the machine easier to move to and from the cutting area, and Extension Handles to make working on slopes or other difficult areas easier.
