For centuries, when dealing with heavy-duty agricultural jobs, humans had only oxen and horses to rely upon to supplement their own manpower and ingenuity. But as noble and effective as these beasts of burden may once have been, we can probably all be thankful that Westwood have dedicated their manpower and ingenuity to creating machines capable of making our friendly animal helpers utterly redundant. In the form of the F250 4TRAC garden tractor, a four-wheel drive ride-on petrol lawnmower designed for effective mowing on even the most uneven or slippery ground, Westwood have created a motorised steed which will serve you just as faithfully as any draft animal, but with all of the advantages offered by cutting edge technology and modern ergonomic design (including an integrated cup holder and comfortable driver’s seat for a touch of convenience sadly lacking from most horses).
Driven by a powerful and smooth running 726cc Kawasaki FR730V four-stroke petrol engine, the F250’s 4TRAC technology ensures unbeatable stability by sensing the traction required at each wheel and applying drive accordingly, enabling greater flexibility when mowing on steep slopes or wet ground. Maneouvrability and control are further enhanced by the mower’s hydrostatic transmission, enabling infinitely fine speed control via a simple two-pedal system, while dynamic traction control helps prevent scuffing or skidding while turning.
While four-wheel drive obviously gives the F250 4TRAC a distinct advantage over many of its competitors when mowing on wet or slippery ground, for the very best cutting results in wet grass Westwood’s powered grass collectors are absolutely essentially. Driven via the mower’s power take-off, Westwood’s collectors use a spindle of brushes to sweep grass clippings into the collection bag in a manner which prevents the kind of clogging from which most mower’s routinely suffer in wet conditions. The 300 litre collector compatible with the F250 4TRAC (available separately) thus provides a level of collection performance which perfectly complements the outstanding cutting delivered by the 122cm XRD rear discharge cutting deck fitted as standard with this impressive machine, with ten-position height of cut adjustment also included to further ensure a precise and immaculate finish.
Also featuring a helpful dashboard mounted performance indicator with electronic slope alert, failsafe parking break, noise-reducing bonnet and a robust protective bullbar, Westwood’s F250 4TRAC is a premium quality ride-on lawnmower perfect for those who want to be safe in the knowledge that they are prepared for anything their garden (or the inevitably damp British weather) might throw at them.

About WestwoodWestwood is a British manufacturing success story. Based just outside Oxford, the company has been producing high quality, state of the art garden tractors for over thirty years. In that time, Westwood has become a word synonymous with quality among those in the know and Westwood's garden tractors are famous for providing long lasting, superbly reliable performance. This is because every employee is passionate about constantly improving every part of the manufacturing process, with a deep understanding of how their machines perform in real life situations a core part of the development process.
Westwood’s tractors are also a little different from most though, as they are specifically designed to cope with the British climate. As such, all electronic controls are fully weatherproofed, while painted components have been tested with 500 hours of continuous salt spray exposure to ensure they are protected against corrosion. Even more impressive, however, is Westwood’s unique collection system, designed to make it easy to cut wet grass without having to worry about clogging.
Luckily, Westwood garden tractors cut and collect in a totally different way than most lawnmowers as the system doesn’t rely on air flow to collect grass cuttings. Instead, the Westwood collector uses a spindle of brushes driven by the tractor’s power take-off to sweep grass clippings from your lawn and into the hopper, leaving a pristine lawn surface behind in its wake. The Powered Grass Collector is effective in wet or dry conditions and out-performs every other type of collector on the market, ensuring that you can achieve a perfect cut and a tidy finish regardless of the conditions underfoot. Moreover, Westwood’s Powered Grass Collectors are also fitted with a heavy rear roller capable of producing a crisp stripe effect as you mow for an even more luxurious finish.
In addition to this fantastic innovative system, Westwood garden tractors are tough, user-friendly and truly built to last, making them perfect for serious home gardeners and lawn care professionals alike. If you apply online (at http://www.westwoodtractors.com/demo/) you can even request a free home demonstration so that you can see exactly what a Westwood tractor can do (at which point we're pretty sure you’ll decide you want one).
