Westwood’s 300l powered grass collector uses a spindle of brushes to sweep cut grass and garden debris into the collection bag. As this sweeping system does not rely on maintaining airflow, clogging does not become an issue, even in wet grass.
Conventional wisdom dictates that mowing a lawn when it is wet is far from ideal, and better avoided if possible; wet grass takes longer to mow and the heavy wet clippings can gum up the cut and collection systems in your mower, causing clogging. However, you can’t just ignore your lawn forever hoping for a sunny day, especially in Britain, where drizzly Sundays are a national tradition, so sometimes mowing when the ground is wet underfoot is a necessity.
The clever chaps and chapesses at Westwood, however, take pride in designing ride-on mowers specifically suited to mowing British gardens, and as such don’t think that a bit of rain should stop you from enjoying a pristinely mown lawn. Their solution to this apparently intractable meteorological dilemma is their range of powered grass collectors. Rather than blow the clippings into the grass collector as most mowers do, Westwood’s powered collectors use a spindle of brushes rotating at over 2,000 strokes per minute to sweep cut grass and garden debris into the collection bag. As this sweeping system does not rely on maintaining airflow in the same manner as conventional grass collection systems, clogging does not become an issue, even in wet grass. Moreover, as the collector comes complete with a heavy-duty rear-mounted roller, you will also be able to achieve a classic striped finish on your lawn as you mow.
This combination of innovation, efficiency and a high quality finish makes Westwood’s powered grass collectors absolutely essential if you want to get the most out of your ride-on mower.
