Wilkinson Sword Telescopic Geared Anvil Loppers provide extra length, increased power and maximum leverage for cutting woody thick branches.
Wilkinson Sword’s Telescopic Geared Anvil Loppers are designed for dealing with hard woody stems and branches, and possess two mechanical advantages over regular loppers. Firstly, the gear action of the loppers provides greater cutting power with less effort required from you. And secondly, the adjustable handles can be extended from a length of 580mm to 750mm, enabling you to cut branches located above your head or in spots where manoeuvring is more difficult.
These Anvil Loppers are equipped with a carbon steel blade which closes on an anvil on the lower jaw, allowing you to cut through stems and branches up to 37mm in diameter. This does not provide as clean a cut as that of bypass loppers, but this is less important when you are tackling older and tougher wood. The blade has also been finished with a non-stick coating to prevent debris clogging up the cutting mechanism. The use of carbon steel moreover ensures that the blade has a long life – a marker of quality which is emphasised by the accompanying 10 year guarantee against faulty material and workmanship.
The handles meanwhile are constructed from aluminium, making them tough yet lightweight and easy to use. Extending them is straightforward too thanks to the 3-step lever and locking pin. Comfort is also provided by the soft grips, contoured to your hands and allowing you to hold the loppers securely without them slipping.
• Extendable handles to reach difficult places
• Mechanical advantage to allow easier cutting through thicker material
• Blade is made from carbon steel with non-stick coating
• Lightweight aluminium handles
• Designed to cut woody thick branches where clean cut is not important

About Wilkinson SwordThe name Wilkinson Sword is synonymous with the manufacture of high quality blades and cutting instruments, most notably swords and razors. It is no surprise therefore that the brand is also strongly linked with the garden tools industry, in particular cutting and pruning hand tools such as loppers and secateurs. The company dates back to 1772, where it began the manufacture of swords for military use and continued this trend for many years to follow. Believe it or not, they also persisted with the manufacture of some of the earliest production motorcycles during the early part of the 20th Century, including a luxury touring motorcycle called the Wilkinson TMC.
In-between producing swords and motorcycles, they also produced guns, bayonets, typewriters and scissors. With the closing down of its U.K. operations in 2000, production of razors moved to Solingen in Germany. The production of garden tools is now also based mostly in Germany, with the demise of the former manufacturing plant in Bridgend. The quality of Wilkinson Sword gardening tools is not in doubt, with the majority of products backed with a ten-year guarantee against manufacturing defaults, ensuring that the legacy of quality that started back in 1772 continues to this day.
